"A Lockwood underpass would allow buses, and emergency vehicles if necessary, to drive below the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, which are another source of frustration for the East End community. A pedestrian and bicycle path also would flow under the tracks, while automobile drivers still would cross the tracks at ground level." https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/transportation/article/metro-university-corridor-lockwood-eastend-17876361.php

"A new 130-unit mixed-income housing development has broken ground in the Gulfgate neighborhood southeast of the University of Houston. In addition to a number of amenities common to apartment complexes — a pool, a fitness center, granite countertops — the OST Lofts will feature an unusual perk: free pre-K." https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/housing/article/ost-lofts-free-pre-kindergarten-affordable-housing-17875771.php
