  1. Door was open so I took a peek inside, the workers confirmed it was Main Bird.
  2. I had to take a look at Prose Oliver to see whether the tower crane was going up, if it was I was going to head over there. No, it's not.
  3. The Peinier 450 - 20 ton is up but the crew is doing the finishing touches to it. As the GT Leach guy I talked a while back said they are using a concrete contractor that they had never used before. He couldn't remember the name at the time but it is "Halstruc" out of Katy. Tx. I've never seen or heard of them. https://halstruc.com Lewis Crane and Hoist owns the town crane. They are out of Mansfield, Tx. This is the third job were I've seen on of their cranes. They seem to be taking a portion of the tower crane business from some of the others around town. I wonder if they underbid the projects to get a foot in the door. http://lewiscraneandhoist.com Bobcat Contracting was the crane company who erected the tower crane. Out of Hillsboro, Tx. Another company I've never heard of. https://bobcatcontracting.com For those wondering what Galatians 6 14 means, I had to look it up because I have zero clue....... “But far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ by which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.”
  4. Woodhead at W. Gray. This is the south side of the intersection but the north side is already done exactly like this.
  5. "The Pointe at Bayou Bend" aka 800 Middle. Google Maps has it labeled as that too and early on when construction was starting the site superintendent from NRP Group invited me in to his construction trailer to talk, he told me that was name too. He said they still call it 800 Middle amongst themselves but the official names is "The Pointe at Bayou Bend". The start of the parking garage. Google Maps. When he invited me in his trailer he let me take a pic of the site plan he had on the wall.
  6. I sometimes go on N. Velasco St. to fly my drone from when taking pics of the "Pointe at Bayou Bend" aka 800 Middle apartment project. Almost every time I drive down it lately, I see workers either surveying or today a crew removing the train tracks and the railroad ties. This property belongs to Southern Pacific Railroad Company. There used to be at least 5 rail lines or maybe more a long time ago. I recall seeing lots and lots of new but aged bundles of lumber and maybe sheetrock the very first time I ever rode down this. One time I rode all the to the end of the rail because there was an old rail car sitting on the end of the line. I'm curious what may be planned for this property.
  7. Brady Island where Brandy's Landing and Shanghai Reds restaurants were before they were both demolished. The whole island is now Southwest Shipyard Brady Island and Brady East on Broadway St. which used to owned by Bludworth Bond Shipyards before they sold out to Southwest. Both Mr Bludworth and Mr Bond were getting pretty old and just decided to retire. Southwest Shipyards started and is still in operation at their original Channelview site on San Jacinto River by IH 10 East. They also bought the old Todd Shipyard on Pelican Island in Galveston. http://www.swslp.com
  8. It would be an apartment project in Houston if there wasn't at least one broken window during construction.
  9. Better view of the property lines. It stretches from Polk St. to Bell St., western edge along the line by the little ball court, and juts between the two sets of townhomes. The 3 shotgun houses on Bell St. will be demolished.
  10. I was here pretty early this morning so no workers had shown up yet. I think they will do the whole thing eventually.
  11. This demo project seems to have stopped, I wonder if they have bigger fish to fry elsewhere?
  12. My guess is that they had all the surplus dirt was sitting in one pile and a rain event water logged it and it slid down the hill in to Little White Oak Bayou. What I wonder if their SWPPP contractor will report them and will they be fined by anyone? Next time I see the SWPPP guy I will ask him if this is his project or not. I see him all the time at his sites. I saw him last week at the Residences On Westheimer project. He works exclusively inside the loop for Eco Services.
  13. Stormwater vault and the parking garage will be built over it. Call it a Texas wrap.
  14. Still standing, the yellow sign asking for it to be demolished is there too. I wonder if the HFD Arson Dept. asked them to keep it up till their investigation is over. Work on the house next door continues.
