  1. A Mexican restaurant where St. Pete's used to be, and what looks to be a deli/grocery mart below the Byrd Lofts. I have a feeling this grocery mart won't cater to the types of people that the other two crack shacks draw. I'm looking forward to this. I was trying to find some hamburger buns the other day and none of the downtown stores had any...including CVS.
  2. Thanks for the suggestions. Wedding, and I won't wear this thing more than 3 times a year. Charbar charges $900+. I found out I can get a suit made out of nice material at Brooks Brothers so I may go there. Either that or I can go to Nordstum and get one of the rack and have it tailored somewhere. I also heard Last Call at Katy Mills has some great deals.
  3. Does anyone know where I can find a place that makes good custom fit suits? I'm looking to spend around $500.
  4. That's what I'm saying. It didn't look too bad in the bay.
  5. Those wimps should have rode it out in the gulf.
  6. I would second guess those townhomes they are putting up these days in Midtown and the East side. They seem to go up in three months. I'm kidding...kind of.
  7. I also hear The Pig is going to be turned into a sports bar.
  8. The owners of The Harp are opeining an Irish bar across the street from Pearl Bar, where Chaines is (however the hell you spell it). I'm looking forward to this because the area needs a few more laid back bars.
  9. I know someone who works in the building. She said the City of Houston was starting to fine The Chronicle for the scaffolding because they weren't doing any work on the building. Apparently The Chronicle hired someone to do the work, but they found out is was going to be more expensive and over their budget after the scaffolding went up. They just left the scaffolding there until the city threatened to get fine them.
  10. This sounds like a plan...the blue margaitas always make things more enjoyable. Especially with cute girls around.
  11. I don't see I problem with him wanting to make money. Unfortunately I see The Spazmatics more than I would like...usually when I get draged in by some friends. They lip sync a lot and half of the music is synthesized. About the only thing real is the drummer. If I wanted to listen to 80's music I would watch Molly and The Ringwalds because they actually play. The girls seem to love The Spazmatics, so I guess they are doing something right.
  12. Not a good area at all. I know because I tried to walk from The Wet Spot to W. Dallas at nightime. It's a long story, but I got out alive.
  13. Hopefully this club will be shut down soon. It's right next to The Brewerey Tap and I always see fights around this area.
  14. I could not agree more. That 80's cover band called the Spazmatics sucks on Thursdays. Good for you Sammie.
  15. I'm going to watch the Fab 40 play in the park Saturday at 7:30. A reprise of the Fab 40's stunningly constructed note-for-note re-creation of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. This is going to be great. Sgt. Pepper at Discovery Green
  16. I went for a jog at the park last week and didn't like it. There isn't much gravel to run on which means you have to run on concrete for most of the course. I wish it was more than 1/2 mile too - runing in a circle 6 times is not fun.
  17. I'm not a big Sunday morning La Strada fan so I don't mind. http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/sto...24/story13.html Overpriced drinks on a borderline douchebag crowd.
  18. I have no idea what it should be called. I like the east side. http://namethedistrict.com/
  19. surely you can't be serious
  20. I went to the Treehouse last night and it was very nice. This will be a perfect spot on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon for a few drinks. I just hope it doesn't turn into a LaStrada crowd.
