It was open at 10:00PM Tuesday night. I think they open at 6:00am.

Clarks is no longer a bar - it is now a coffee shop with a nice atmosphere. Rumor has it they are trying to get the cooks who made breakfast at Kava Kanes. They served some pretty good stuff over at Kava Kanes so I hope that's true.

Musicman, I have probably seen you at Warren's and Charbar many time without realizing who you are.

One of my favorite bars downtown is closing Friday night (right next to La Carafe). I didn't go there as often as I should have, but that place had great some ambiance with the wood work and high ceilings. I great place to take a date.

I think it's jte "I BAR" - not bad.

Musicman, there is no such thing as rock anymore. I don't think anyone knows how to play more than 3 chords these days (there are few exceptions).

The Bachelor with Erica the local socialite
ToolMan replied to KimberlySayWhat's topic in Houston and the Media
So I was talking to this girl at The Roof in Midtown last Saturday night and asked what she did for a living. She said she is on a reality TV show. I told her that really isn't a profession, but what show are you on... The Swan (sarcastically of course)? She looked at me and said no, The Bachelor. Oh boy...apparently I was talking to Erica, and she seemed suprised I didn't know who she was. She still didn't tell me what she does for a living, so I assume she does nothing. My friend told me her job description on The Bachelor is "the socialite". I never watch this show, but I really hope that guy doesn't pick Erica. She wasn't nearly as good looking as she thought she was and didn't have much of a personality - her friends were cuter too. Besides, I still don't know if she has a job? After watching the show for the 1st time and reading the paper, I know why she doesn't do anything...her parents are very well off. -
They have a pretty cool bar up there too. Althought it is not "The Whiskey" anymore, which is good because the drinks are much cheaper now.

Midtown mini-pub crawl tonight with a big group of people - PM me if you are interested. Front Porch Pub - 8:30 Komodo - 10:00 Tipsy Clover - 11:00 Red Door/Roof - 12:00/12:30

Why is the word GREEN in RED?

I agree with the prices at the Front Porch too. At times, I just like to lay back and chill for a while on the patio. If I want strong drinks I will go to Warren's - I can get a strong Crown & Coke for $4.50 (and I mean STRONG).

Thanks for the comments. A lot of people are very pleased with the renovation of the bayous from what I saw on the news today. A subdivision in Jersey Village usually floods bad, but all of the houses were dry this time.

Exactly why a don't go to these kind of clubs. I'll take Front Porch, Woodrow's, and Komodo with cute girls, good drinks, no lines, and no bouncers getting money for skipping the line.

The Roof has kind of a Red Door crowd, but not really (if that makes sense). I like the music and they had a live band Friday night. I hear they are going to get bands playing on Sunday afternoons. The crowd isn't that bad.

I call this place TARGET.

I think the bars will survive...they have in Austin and NYC too. I'm looking forward to all of the new patios that will be built - there is nothing better than drinking a beer or margarita on a nice day on a patio. I talked with one of the bar owners downtown and he should have his patio built within a couple of weeks.

Yep, it will be where Bar Houston was located. -
I went to Hiccups for lunch last week. I had the burger with fried edd on it which was good. Burgers, Salad, Pizza, ect... I'm not sure about the pizza but I heard compliments from everything else.

I have been there a couple of times, and they have some pretty good food. Not much of a crowd though.
