  1. Try Block 21. The same owner as The Flat and a couple of other loungy places.
  2. I have a feeling The Drinkery will be the place to go before going out, so you will see some of that crowd, but I'm fine with it. And I think the term "douchebag" is not used properly anymore.
  3. Anyplace that lets me come in with shorts and flip-flops at 10:30pm is alright in my book. I wouldn't say the place is douche bag light.
  4. Went to The Drinkery Friday night and it's nice and laid back with a huge deck outside.
  5. Uhg, I'm in my mid 30's and I'm now cougar hunting? Damnit! I'm going to classify a cougar as an upper 40's lady to make me feel better. I guess I'm off to Benjy's. Who's with me?
  6. they can follow the velet parking trend
  7. Welcome to no zoning. If the city would limit these bars to certain areas or districts things would be fine. I'm not saying bars should not be in neighborhoods, but 30 bars within a 3 mile radius are a bit excessive unless they are in a designated area.
  8. I have lived downtown for the past 5 years and the previous posters are correct. The "scene" just moved on...just as it will with Midtown other than the staple nieghborhood bars. I'm not saying Midtown will die, but I wouldn't be supprised if Pub Fiction is no longer there 5 years from now. I miss the old downtown.
  9. Downtown residents did not drive away the bars along Main St.
  10. I would like a carport as well. I have had a couple of quotes ranging in the $4,500 to $5,500 price range. The deminsions I want are 12' wide x 22' long with a storage unit built in - 6' x 12'. I need to start looking around again.
  11. Try some of these places Smurf. Osaka Sushi Jin Nippon Kaneyama
  12. I'll just say that you know it's rough crowd when you have to have security gaurds at the door.
  13. Agreed. I have a friend that used to work there, but quit over a year ago when the crowd got bad. She said they hired a promoter a while back who just sent invitations on MySpace for all of his friends to show up at 6th St. I guess the promoter hung out with that kind of crowd.
  14. I may be wrong, but I think Rudyard's has been there way longer than most of the houses in that area. That is like complaining about living next to a RR track when you knew it was already there.
  15. The kitchen has a perfect spot for a pantry. I'm pretty sure I can add some clostet space pretty easily in the 3rd bedroom.
  16. I just bought an old house and those houses hardly have any closet space. I need a pantry in the kitchen and add a closet (preferably some kind of a walk-in) in the spare bedroom. Does anyone have any recommendations of anyone that builds closets? Nothing fancy, just your basic stuff. My friend used Closet Factory and they did great work, but I
  17. I heard that Daily Grind os closed - it may be a bar soon. Is this true? I hope not.
  18. I probably ran into some of you at the Warren's/Pearl Harbor day celebration last year and didn't even know it. Pearl Harbor Day is this Sunday this year and I will be there again. You guys should check out Brewery Tap for a low-key place downtown.
  19. A Mexican restaurant where St. Pete's used to be, and what looks to be a deli/grocery mart below the Byrd Lofts. I have a feeling this grocery mart won't cater to the types of people that the other two crack shacks draw. I'm looking forward to this. I was trying to find some hamburger buns the other day and none of the downtown stores had any...including CVS.
  20. Thanks for the suggestions. Wedding, and I won't wear this thing more than 3 times a year. Charbar charges $900+. I found out I can get a suit made out of nice material at Brooks Brothers so I may go there. Either that or I can go to Nordstum and get one of the rack and have it tailored somewhere. I also heard Last Call at Katy Mills has some great deals.
  21. Does anyone know where I can find a place that makes good custom fit suits? I'm looking to spend around $500.
  22. That's what I'm saying. It didn't look too bad in the bay.
