As with the St Thomas science building, the roof trellis was axed. Still a nice looking development. The office (or hotel?) portion looks a lot like a larger BLVD Place.

The Menil Collection At 1533 Sul Ross St.
cloud713 replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Going Up!
For some reason those photos with the fence in frame made me think that Bobruss must be like Wilson from Home Improvement, with a camera, to the construction crew.. Heh.- 420 replies

If only they would of also announced plans to clad the giant parking garage/do something to break up the monotonous wall..

I still can't figure out what the heck Crescent is waiting for with the Houston Center redevelopment..? i dig this new design. And the new One Allen Center entrance somewhat reminds me of that mid century atrium/pavilion that was torn down on Main for a parking garage. Normally I don't like too much ground level green space in urban developments, with large setbacks from the street. But since this development is more of a massive complex, and the space is being treated like a public park, I like it.

Hmm.. Kind of surprised they aren't doing anything with the random "sculpture" hill at the northeast corner that's never utilized.

Amegy Bank At 1717 West Loop S.
cloud713 replied to nolaboy's topic in River Oaks/Upper Kirby/Greenway Plaza/Bissonnet
Maybe you're right (granted both depictions are from the same angle), but comparing the original rendering to the new rendering, the pitch of the angle is about 33% shallower (2 floors vs 3). It seems to still be the same height though, as the crown extends above the top by 2 rows/floors instead of the original one.- 558 replies

Two Hermann Place & Three Herman Place: High-Rises At 1661 Hermann Dr.
cloud713 replied to ClutchCity's topic in Going Up!
As HAIFers, we should take it upon ourselves to head down to the leasing office and each sign up for a unit, all the while promoting the heck out of One Hermann Place to everyone we know, so that it will fill up faster and there will be so much demand for units they'll be forced to build these new towers..- 345 replies

Crain Square: Townhome Development In West University
cloud713 replied to etheriemma's topic in Houston Enclaves
Uhhh.. I hate to be the one to point it out, but there seems to be a massive water tower in the development. I like how the renderings completely left that out. The second rendering showing the landscaped area with the flag poles must be facing right just enough to avoid the water tower. Thats going to be a nice backdrop..- 67 replies

Drewery Place: Multifamily High-Rise At 2850 Fannin St.
cloud713 replied to Urbannizer's topic in Midtown
My thoughts exactly.. Even if there wasn't a piazza on the same block, 600 units is way more than any other single block development I can think of.. The design/layout of the site should be very interesting. Maybe the piazza would be tucked underneath an elevated structure?- 1,569 replies

Drewery Place: Multifamily High-Rise At 2850 Fannin St.
cloud713 replied to Urbannizer's topic in Midtown
Interesting (but awesome!) that the 350 unit building would be 24-28 stories.. 600 units on one block, with a piazza, seems like a pretty dense development.- 1,569 replies

Heh, it's cool. We appreciate all the photo updates you've been providing. I finally got my first decent camera about 6 months ago, so I understand wanting to go test out a new lens.

Photos/info of practically anything pertaining to the developments is relevant here.. . I agree, this tower went all out with the amenities. Sounds like astros now has a co host for the HAIF 40th story pool party. We can't wait to check it out!- 1,894 replies
