I know Gillette is the thru street… it would have been a boon for this development (and area) if the developers could have bought the land all the way to West Dallas.  I wonder if there is any long term thinking on possibly buying that last parcel(s)?   Perhaps a little more mixed used will continue to inch along on West Dallas in the next few years?

What Parcel? They own all the land available all the way to the apartments Tinsely on the Park. which front West Dallas. Tinsley on the Park was built within the last decade I believe so I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon.

That is the property I am referring to - please excuse my lazy real estate terminology.  Yes, I realize these are newer apartments and it is highly unlikely these will be torn down and redeveloped.  My point was it would have been better for development of this project to continue all the way to West Dallas.  I’m just thinking out loud…

Does anyone know what is happening with the Pavilion?  It seems like there's been little to no construction progress there for some time.

there are 3 items that are wreaking havoc on construction schedules right now: mineral wool insulation, metal decking, and roof insulation.  Looks like they need all 3 on the little building....  My guess is that they got pinched on schedule and will get to it when they get their materials.

this development looks so strange to me and not sure exactly why! maybe how different the lower stainless steel tupperware container building looks compared to the base and angled supports on the taller adjacent tower?...who knows haha! but everytime i ride my bike by it i find myself staring at it in wonder so i guess that is a good thing 🤪

The renderings on their website show the base of the tower looking like stainless steel tupperware, too. 🤷‍♂️https://residencesattheallen.com

News story from NBC Nightly News Tonight (Saturday 10/02). A major interview is with Robert Contreras who is overseeing the project. Great story for Houston and includes some cool shots of the project as well :)

Very cool story about Houston, but what is with the reporter's pronunciation of "entrepreneur"????  (The accent is NOT supposed to be on the second syllable.)

There are two reddit posts from this bridge, and the amount of hate this building is getting is remarkable.

Can always look at it somewhat philosophically. People are going to hate something, it seems to be in our DNA. Hating buildings is fairly harmless. I can't stand the Tour Montparnesse in Paris due to its location, but still love Paris. One can adjust.
