HoustonBoy
It's crazy to think that Thompson is building hotels in Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio simultaneously. The Texas market is strong!

Geographer
No, I'm referring to the red cables or wires in this photograph:

They are pulled tight after concrete is poured. They add greater strength to the slab and can allow for longer spans between support columns... there are other benefits that someone more knowledgeable can attest to. 6

ArtNsf
Looks like pretty good progress going on! One of only a handful of "good" things to come of the covid19 crisis these days - faster and easier construction projects.

KinkaidAlum
Has anyone found the height for this one? I'm hoping it gets in the 500 foot range as a grand hotel lobby floor plus for-sale condos tend to have higher ceiling heights than rentals. The AIG tower needs a tall companion.

Not sure about the Pavilion, but the Hotel/Condos that will be going up next to it measures 478' 11" to top of level 37 Helipad.

Popular Post TheSirDingle
Ngl I could see a row of high rises on Allen Parkway massively expanding the downtown skyline. We already have quite a few going up, ie. regent square , hanover square and the allen being all multi-highrise developments. After these are done I could see it being combined with the midtown and downtown, to make it look like one massive skyline. Eventually the 2 miles of land sitting on the parkway will be filled with high rises like the developments previously stated. This is the start of a massive, but organic densification process with downtown and tmc being the main nodes. The eventual infill between these nodes ie. midtown to allen parkway, will create a continuous dense urban environment unique to Houston. Honestly pretty excited to see these developments go up, just shows the growing juggernaut that Houston is and will be in the near future.
