brhaltx
The street scenes weren't in Houston... Did you notice the hills in the background?
IronTiger
Toward the beginning, there was what appeared to be a sunken highway--there aren't many sunken highways like that in Houston, and it wasn't Interstate 10 or 69.
kylejack
The very first scene could have been a street in Midtown or Museum District over 59 or 288. Other than that, there were no exterior scenes that seemed to be shot in Houston, except one Downtown shot from the Sabine Street bridge. Certainly not the park with the giant fountains. Edit: Nope, I used an apartment complex sign to confirm the location of the first scene. It was shot in Los Angeles, right here: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Tesoro+Del+Valle&ll=34.07858,-118.220007&spn=0.002894,0.004128&client=firefox-a&fb=1&gl=us&cid=2619391441908811940&t=h&z=19&layer=c&cbll=34.078648,-118.2199&panoid=cxK5t20F5Df6aK3zMzC3ig&cbp=12,56.52,,0,1.93 Edited January 23, 2014 by kylejack
brhaltx
There were hills in the background of that "sunken highway" that sort of looked like 59... The one with the apartment complex. The hilsl almost look like buildings if you don't look closely.

Blue Dogs
On Scandal, it's got Fitz Grant as the 44th President. I'm assuming the executive producers intend to have the Republicans holding the White House for 16 years since he took over after Bush 43. ricco67
It was a necessity. After Marvin died, it seems like once people tried to copy him were doing a couple of places a month. I miss him.A friend of mine was getting screwed by a business and got action once he said he was writing marvin. The mere threat of doing so is enough for business to compromise in the old days.
shasta
Houston is featured in the movie, Draft Day. There is a nice aerial shot of Reliant Stadium with the Med Center and then downtown in the background. IMO, this is the most complete view of the Houston skyline because you get 2 of the 3 largest density clusters in one shot, an on axis. Uptown is more of a jumbled mess when compared to DT or MC and it is harder to relate that district back to the other 2.

shasta
Do they communicate the setting is Houston or just some nfl city? It is clearly noted as HOUSTON...home of the Texans. They do an aerial over Reliant and our skyline then they break away to the character that plays the Texans GM. Plus Arian Foster is a prominent, although not frequent, character in the movie. If you have any interest in football at all.......you will find this to be a very entertaining movie (just don't take it too seriously). People in the theater actually started clapping and cheering lol. It was probably the best shot of Houston in a movie IMO

democide
The scene is around 55-60 minutes into the movie. It approaches downtown from the south, going along I-45. Great scene, and once again the federal building appears as not being finished on the left. It's been in brochures and in many other pictures/images showing it in it's current state. Also, a highrise tower would look good where the Days Inn is at. Just an observation.

Montrose1100
I think it's supposed to be looking up at Pennzoil, but somehow it has Tranquility Park's odd copper water feature towers that have quadrupled in size.
