^^^ my goodness, this new LED lighting design is certainly adding an all-new level of POSHNESS to this burgeoning development.  the money or overall budget here is obviously no real object.  as each week passes, this development is looking more and more luxurious... WOW!

@hindesky yep. The news regarding Maven at Thompson Houston Hotel was posted in this very thread back in July. Also, this location isn't just a coffee shop, it's a cafe.

Earlier this week, Houston Chronicle's paywall-free site Chron reported on The Thompson / Thompson Houston's forthcoming coffee shop.

Named Maven / Maven Coffee Co., the coffee shop and cafe will be located in the lobby of the hotel. It's one of several food and beverage options opening in the hotel. The coffee shop is from Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. and Juan Carlos Martinez de Aldecoa (Eximus Coffee).

Located in The Allen mixed-use development, Maven aims to open in November (at least that's what's indicated on Maven's website and social media).

Building permits lists the address for Maven as 1711 Allen Parkway Floor 1. However, the address on Thompson Houston's website lists 1701 Allen Parkway.

And the rendering was also shared here in July...

think this may be the first known dining / restaurant tenant for the Allen, the mixed-use development at 1701 Allen Parkway: Toca Madera.

Toca Madera is a contemporary Mexican steakhouse from The Madera Group. There are locations in West Hollywood, Scottsdale, and Las Vegas...

This week's Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations filing indicates Toca Madera is leasing a unit at the Allen. It will be located at 1755 Allen Parkway in the Allen Lifestyle Pavilion (the Allen Pavilion).

Great photos! I'm a sucker for cloud porn too... Wonder how far away the storm was at the time this was shot.

Since I can't edit - I checked the radar loop. Small thunderstorm on the northeastern edge of Trinity Bay, straddling the Chambers/Liberty county line. Not bad for a "popcorn" thunderstorm near dusk. Golden hour making everything look good.
