Nice try but unlike AftonAg, I accepted that the voters approved the stadiums because that's how things work. Please don't lump me in with AftonAg and his gang who seem to be prepared to go to court to overturn the referendum. There's a huge difference in disagreeing with an outcome vs. trying to overturn the outcome.

I seriously don't care what your "point"-if any is. I've never voted to build a sports stadium for millionaire and billionaire team owners and I don't forsee doing so in the future. Your METRO/stadium analogy is meaningless to the discussion.

My mom went to nursing school there. She roomed in the dorm buiding in the background until she married my dad and moved into San Felipe Courts. Unfortunatly all the photos were lost when Allison destroyed my parents home. -

we've gone from torvald being creeped out in the library to gto250us rounding up the homeless to send to Iraq to Gary comparing FDR to bush. Now there's a trip around the world. -
We might lose 11th street due to lack of intrest and $$ but we not because of another new park. BTW...don't count out 11th quite yet

torvold, You got creeped out at the library. barnes choose to twist into something else altogether. I wouldn't worry too much about him-he seems to have issues on many levels. nmg ..and remember, we'll always have Hulda -

Wow. Torvald was merely describing-not discriminating. You might one to check one of your little dictionaries so that the next time you don't come out looking so boorish. -

You are correct that the streets were on the grid. That was interrupted by the multi block long GHB. The streets were realigned to merge with Dallas and Walker, thus creating the "super block."

Ahhh yes, Cherryhurst....do I have a good one for you: I had a good friend-R.I.P.- who lived in a townhouse on Yupon. Almost everyday after work he'd find a pile of poop on his little square of grass. One day he was home sick and saw who was bringing their dog over to deposit it's load. A few days later he scooped up that day's poop, took it to the guy's home, dumped it on his threshold, rang the doorbell and politly told him he was returning what his dog lost. That was the end of having the guy who lived on the park with the biggest yard dumping dog s__it on my friend's little square of grass.

That's why people will end up calling it "The Green". I'd feel stupid calling someone to meet me at Discovery Green for lunch. "Oh Norbert? Would you be ever so nice and meet meet at Discovery Green for lunchon?" Uh Uh..."Hey Bill! Meet me at The Green at 12 and I'll let you buy me lunch."

Listen Lucy, no one is "especting" you to do anything. Just know that waiters and waitresses have looooooooooong memories. I can remember the face AND name of a certain ass-wipe that came into the restaurant I worked in 30+ years ago. He prided himself on not tipping. We prided ourselves on offering him the worse service we could get away with.

Co-Cathedral Of The Sacred Heart At 1111 St. Joseph Parkway
nmainguy replied to Montrose1100's topic in Holy Places
I agree; absolute CAD. But on the other side of the coin CAD can give you a full dome if you want it. Compare it to the dome on the new courthouse. They are interchangable. I mean, if you are going to build a courthouse or cathedral dome, build it in it's fullest historic sense-not some shallow half dome that says they either hired a mediocre architect, didn't have the budget to do it right or both.- 286 replies

I love the smoking ban. If you want to pollute your shriviling lungs-take it outside. I didn't pay to breath your habit.

I was thinking more along the line of Prison Drab and powdered eggs for Lynn and a big ol' diaper for Oscar. But don't worry, trash like her and Oscar always get off. It's just the way things work nowadays
