I had been missing his presence for a while, since he "retired" from TV.

For years, I watched the Saturday AM news on KHOU just to see his segment.

It was a pleasure to hear from someone who actually knew what they were talking about,  communicated so clearly, and made such a personable impression as well.

My deepest condolences to the Treece family & the CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston family.

I also should note Treece served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

This appears to be typical broadcasting job security on both sides of the fence.

The employee is always looking, the employer always looking for the next best job or person. Job security is not paramount. This is the way the broadcasting  employment operates.

If you have to guess: How long do you see Lisa Hernandez lasting at NBC 2 KPRC-TV Houston ?

Unfortunately he is impossible to get rid of in the Houston radio market. The hated Josh Innes will be back on the radio starting Monday on 97.5 GOW media station.

Thankfully I'm not able to  listen during  2 - 4 pm time slot he will be on. Let's take bets on how long before he gets fired from another radio station.

    I'll give it 5-6 months.

  7. Sad news from the Ch. 13 Eyewitness News family. Photojournalist Willie Dixon died last night at the age of 52. He joined the ABC O&O station in 2006 from WFTV in Orlando, FL. Dixon was also a graduate of Alabama State University, where he played trombone in the ASU Hornet Marching Band.

  8. Just found out NBC 2 Weekday Morning Anchor Taniya Wright is no longer with the station after just 9 months (she joined in August of 2019). According to multiple sources, no other information is available yet.

Wright anchored the weekday morning & midday newscasts until today. No information about her future plans were available or disclosed. I should note Wright was on today's morning newscast earlier today, but not in the midday newscast for some reason.

Thoughts on Wright's departure from NBC 2 & the revolving door at the station ?
