  1. Whoever wins the GOP Runoff between Moral Mealer & Martinez is going to defeat Hidalgo in November due to the GOP Wave.

I also think there's a 50-50% chance that Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia (D) loses reelection this fall as well.

Hate to break it to you, but Abbott's likely getting reelected in a landslide this fall since 2022 is a big GOP year nationwide.

  3. Biden's the WORST President in America with foreign adversaries punking his WEAKLING timid expletive at every turn (see Putin invading Ukraine, Xi, Maduro, KJU & Co.,).

Safe to say he'll be the LAST Dem President we'll ever see in the White House for awhile.

Too bad that it almost doesn't matter who gets the Republican nomination.  The way things are going for the Democrats the Republicans could nominate Elmer Fudd and take the white house in 2024.  All they have to do is bring back the Reagan's brilliant campaign question: "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?'"

I wonder what to what lengths the Biden admin will go to try to turn that around.  They have to be getting desperate with less than a year before he becomes a lame duck.

It's also looking more & more likely the GOP is almost certainly going to win back control of the US House of Representatives & United States Senate in November this fall.

Plus, I think the GOP will pick up more Governorships in 8 months as well.

  5. WOW: Now this is what I NEVER saw coming at all, straight out of left field:  Weeknight Evening Anchor Kris Gutierrez announced his departure from his evening anchor post & left the NBC Station on February 2nd.

For those who don't the situation of what's going on, here's a scoop:

*Gutierrez returned to NBC 2 KPRC-TV Houston in March of 2020 to replace the legendary Bill Balleza, who retired after nearly 40 years. He co-anchored with Dominique Sachse, who herself left the station in October 2021 after 28 years to focus on her upcoming book & YouTube Channel (which I am a subscriber of by the way).

*At the time of Gutierrez's sudden departure, he was co-anchoring only for weeks with Daniella Guzman (who previously worked with NBC 2 as a weekend morning anchor), who just returned home from NBC 4 KNBC-TV  Los Angeles.

No word on who'll replace Gutierrez on the 6:00 PM & 10:00 PM Newscasts though, although it's possible Andy Cerota or Keith Garvin might replace him.

Any thoughts on Gutierrez leaving NBC 2 KPRC-TV Houston ?

Oh my I reached out to Sallie Acorns office and received similar reply.

    - The only speaker on the kiosk is for the Emergency Call Button, which is only activated when pressed and allows for two-way communication between the user and the local police. Otherwise, the kiosks do not emit any noise.
    - As stated above, there will not be any music played from the kiosks, or any other noise.

I am so glad to settle this

Now that's intriguing to find out.

  7. For those who have Dish Network, you've been wondering why haven't you been able to watch CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston since early last month. It appears that TEGNA removed all services from Dish Network & it turns out CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston is NOT the only ones with viewers having problems not seeing their station: if you're living in the Lone Star State, other TEGNA stations being affected by this include the following: WFAA-TV Dallas/Fort Worth (ABC 8), KENS-TV San Antonio (CBS 5), KVUE-TV Austin (ABC 24), KCEN-TV Waco, KAGS-TV College Station, KYTX-TV Tyler, KIII-TV Corpus Christi, KBMT-KJAC-TV Beaumont, KXVA-TV Abilene & KIDY-TV San Angelo.

Byron Allen of Entertainment Studios announced last month, he has enough investors to help him in a $23-a-share-takeover of TEGNA. Allen also owns the Weather Channel & other local TV stations.

Who do y'all think will be owning CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston & TEGNA one year from now if this situation isn't resolved ?

  8. Howdy HAIF Family. Guess who's coming back home folks.... Daniella Guzman is coming back home to her hometown & back to NBC 2 KPRC-TV Houston as the station's Weeknight Evening Anchor replacing the legendary Dominique Sachse, who retired from NBC 2 on October 29th after 28 years.

Guzman will anchor the 6:00 PM & 10:00 PM newscasts on Mondays through Fridays beginning January 10th, 2022.

Group RMC paid an undisclosed amount to purchase 5718 Westheimer Road, a 491,092-square-foot, 22-story tower near the intersection of Westheimer and Bering Drive. While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, 5718 Westheimer Road was valued at $62.9 million as of Jan. 1, according to Harris County Appraisal District records.

JLL Capital Markets marketed the property on behalf of the seller, which was also undisclosed. Additionally, JLL (NYSE: JLL) secured the three-year, floating-rate acquisition loan with New York-based Sound Point Capital Management.

    Now that's intriguing 🤔

Large crowd with a big surge, and no place to get away. This happens a lot with large crowds. My kid was there, and saw people body surfed back to the medical people, and saw a couple of people who were turning blue. He went to all 3 festivals, and said that after it's over, there are always a large number of phones, shoes, eyeglasses, merch, etc laying on the ground where people dropped them. It is not safe, ore even possible, to bend over and retrieve something in that situation.

Look at the Who concert in Cincinnati in 1979 and the Hillsborough disaster in England.

Once I saw folks rushing through the security barriers, I knew it was only a matter of time before the inevitable tragic consequences would strike.

Those that voted against the kiosks and were in favor of an app and QR codes fail to realize that when you want someone to come to your city, you don't want them stuck on their phones in your city about your city. I'd rather have visitors interacting and looking at our city.

It just shows some of the nearsightedness by the city at times. In all honesty, not many people are going to have a random app from another city on their phone. Most people won't even take the time to search and download it.

Now what could possibly go wrong ?

Sounds like just what the nation's third largest county needs, an ideological Republican from Humble, who somehow is able to say the following unironically:

“It’s a God thing for me,” she told supporters. “It was heavy on my heart, and I prayed and I have peace,” she said. She talked about the first sentence in the “Purpose-Driven Life” by Rick Warren and how “It’s not about me.”

    Sure, no doubt, lady.

What could possibly go wrong?  I guess she talks to God, so that could be a plus.  Maybe she can ask for fewer hurricanes?

What could possibly go wrong ?

  13. Guess who's coming back home folks.....Daniella Guzman, who will be the new evening anchor for the 6:00 PM & 10:00 PM newscasts of NBC 2 KPRC-TV Houston starting January 10th, 2022.

This man has been failing upward his entire life and has a string of controversies behind him, including sharing revenge porn of a subordinate while working as a CHiP.

He's also very much a publicity-seeking hothead — doing shit like kneeling with protestors at Houston's George Floyd march for the 'Gram while his own staff was trampling those very same protestors with horses an hour later.

I think Miami did not do their due diligence, bought into the image he presented, and decided after that fact that he was a bad fit. The Cuban Mafia thing, and other allegations brought up in Miami, don't even scratch the surface of the ways this guy has failed. They just wanted an excuse to get rid of him. That's my take

  15. Good evening HAIF family. I'm assuming y'all heard about the suspension of Miami PD Police Chief Art Acevedo after only 6 months on the job.

How did things escalate so quickly to the point of Acevedo's suspension & potential termination ?

I voted for Mayor Turner, partially because I believed in him, partially because the alternatives were so bleak.
The final of his limited terms has raised some troubling questions about his judgement and integrity. There's the matter of the undistributed funds for Harvey relief, denying support for buying existing structures to be used as affordable housing, his dismissal of concerns regarding reopening Spur 527, the affordable housing contracts he approved having the appearance of conflict of interest, the firing of the housing director who publicly raised questions about the bidding process, etc.
Although the City of Houston elections are officially non-partisan, everyone knows which are the Democratic and Republican candidates. Is there the possibility of a backlash against Turner that will propel a "non-partisan" Republican candidate into office?

Big question is whether State Senator John Whitmire (D-Houston) will run for the Mayoralty in 2023 ?

Isn't Houston City Controller Christopher Brown (D) supposed to be running as well ?
