DaTrain, so are they're still going to use the Belo promo at the end of the stations' newscasts like KENS San Antonio ?
-
Chris, maybe Ch. 13 could have gone back to stuff like this in their morning newscasts:
-
Does anyone have the full video of Wayne Dolcefino's 1991 KTRK story on the Turner scandal in the 1991 Houston Mayor's campaign ?
-
Karron, I found some old KPRC video clips from the late 88-91:
Here's one of their 10pm Telecast from 1989
Ron Stone's 6pm newscast from Oct. 15, 1991
Nightcast from January 9, 1991 when they still used "Houston's 24-hour News Source"
-
I guess you guys heard about Mary Lee leaving KPRC after 3 years with the station doing the weekend morning weather forecasts, her last day at KPRC was on Saturday, August 3rd.
-
Tower Spotter, here is another video from WNYW-TV New York Fox 5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9CFGA7g0Rw
I'm trying to find Fox 26 Houston's 1986 and 1987 news opens similar to WNYW just let me know if anyone else can upload it

I was searching old newscast opens from FOX stations back in the 1980s using the music theme, "Fox O&O News Package" and look what I found:
From WNYW-TV New York Fox 5 (1989) 7pm newscast
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUBTzJGXSI
Jack Cafferty worked for WNYW Fox 5 back in the day before joining CNN
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9CFGA7g0Rw
Fox 26 Houston KRIV-TV June 6, 1989 7pm close
KTTV Los Angeles Fox 11 in 1988

Let me know if you guys can find videos from 1987 on KDAF 33 Dallas-Fort Worth.

Plumber2, so what happens to the Praise 92.1 gospel show on the radio station ?
Where have they moved it because I couldn't find it on my HD radio.
-
Berry couldn't even win political office again in Houston if he wanted to because he's a CANCER to the folks in the city. That is unless the GOP convinces him to run for statewide office or county commissioner.
-
Jan Jeffcoat left WFLD-TV Fox 32 Chicago last month after five years with the station. When she joined the station in the summer of 2007 she worked as the co-host of Good Day Chicago, the morning show before being moved to the Noon newscast in 2010. Now she's up and left town again....to her next gig as the host of a nationally-syndicated news show in Phoenix, AZ.
Is she the Todd Graham of news anchors who up and leave whenever they get bored with a particular city ?
-
Highway 6, speaking of Houston sightings, isn't KTRK's Sonia Azad Middle Eastern or Latina ?
-
Harris County Commissioner Sylvia Garcia became the unintended victim of straight-ticket voting in a race nobody expected her to lose, I thought she was going to cruise towards reelection against an unknown GOPer.
-
LTAWACS, I find it odd that Gray was being used by the old boy network management at KPRC only to see the controversy involving Lorelle and Marshall dying down and 4 years later, he gets the boot for "contract dispute," which means translation: get rid of any minority prime-time anchor as fast as they can.
Rachel McNeil is still working at KPRC and I'm wondering how long she's going to be around.
-
Someone said that Dominique was Italian or half-Latina, is that true ?
-
Editor, didn't Houston's 43.5 recently get a South Asian station ?
-
The Houston Chronicle didn't mention his obituary in the City & State section.
-
Ricco67, the reason why Houston passed term limits was because nobody could beat Kathy Whitmire at the polls (she was elected 5 times as Houston's mayor in 1981, 1983, 1985, 1987, and 1989) and the conservatives and those who passed the city's term limits didn't realize that it would effect them as well (Bob Lanier's unsuccessful bid to overturn it) which opened the door for Lee Brown being the city's first African American mayor in 1997.
New York City recently extended the mayor's term from 8 years to 12 years.

Porchman, it appears Sibilia Vargas has left Fox 26 and heading back to Los Angeles to be working at KCBS, the CBS affiliate in that area. I wonder if she ever intended to end her career in Houston because ever since Linda Cheek-Heinrich retired in 2002, the co-anchor spot in the mornings are cursed:
1. Taslin Alfonso (2002-2005): co-anchored the mornings with Jose Grinan and was domoted to the 12 Noon newscasts once Jan Jeffcoat took the morning slot and Taslin eventually went back to New Orleans, her hometown to work at the NBC affiliate WSDU.
2. Jan Jeffcoat (2004-2007): bailed on Houston and never looked back, she's currently at WFLD-TV Fox 32 in Chicago.
3. Sibilia Vargas (2007-2010): lasted only 3 years and went back to LA.

Okie Eric, the Kennedy mini-series starring Martin Sheen and Blair Brown filmed the Dallas sequence in Richmond, Virginia:
-
Sifuwong, will Corona anchor at a different news station in Houston anytime soon like KHOU or KRIV ?
I feel that KPRC has gone downhill since the late Ron Stone retired in 1992.
-
Ricco67, what Ch.13 needs to do is bring back the Million Dollar Movie and the late night movie on the weekends.
-
You guys forgot to add Shara Fryer at KTRK back when she was getting started in the mid 80s:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOD892Hqj7Y
I believed Shara Fryer didn't become a 10pm co-anchor with Dave Ward until 1993.
Sonia Azad of Ch. 13 is very hot and I think she's Middle Eastern.
-
Most likely was filmed in Houston.
Whatever happened to
in Houston and the Media

Bob Boudreaux is still doing acting from what I heard. I remembered he went from Live at 5 until he moved to the weekends around 1990 & stayed there until he left Ch. 13 in 2002
