  1. What's spec mean? =========== I've noticed on downtown maps on the street that the west side of DT is called the Skyline district. Do they call it that b/c that's just what it is, or are there some kind of regulations that say if you build in that area, it's gotta be a certain height? =========== Another question. Is it more or less expensive to build two 30 story buildings, or one 60 story building? Or is it the same?
  2. I'm assuming they would rename at a later date after some company or something. Or no?
  3. Ouch. That one hurts. Although, I have heard similar comments made by radio talents as well. But who knows. They had a great draft last year and it seems as if they're always making national headlines with their moves this offseason.
  4. That's true. At least they were willing to admit their mistake and move on though. What's in the past is in the past. There had to be a reason though. B/c you know that someone wants him. Maybe not for a starting role, but they still want him. I'm guessing that the market for him wasn't real strong, and those who do want him probably don't need him real bad, so they are willing to gamble and try and get him via free agency.
  5. I'm not so sure it was "dumb" that they couldn't get anything for Carr, it was just that they couldn't get anything for him. Management isn't going to just flippantly release someone like that. They did it for a reason.
  6. Haha, Rolaids. I see where you're coming from though. But I would also say that an O-lineman shouldn't necessarily expect that. Salary shouldn't matter. If they are true professionals, you work hard and do your job regardless of what anyone else around you is doing. Maybe my boss is a bad boss, I don't know. But I don't expect him to treat me for doing all the little things that helps him and the organization look good. That's what I get paid for, with money. I mean, should he take all the wideouts out to dinner? What about the RB? Should he take the O-lineman out too? B/c we all know, it's nice to have a good RB, but in almost all circumstances, a RB isn't anything w/o their lineman. Football is the biggest team sport there is. If one person messes up, the whole entire play could be a flop. If anything, everyone should be taking turns treating each other to steaks. So yeah, I understand your point and how the NFL works, I just don't necessarily agree with it.
  7. They've said his entire career that he was a loner. That's not news. And who says he's supposed to take his lineman out? Just b/c it's a tradition or something? Athletes always talk about how even though they may not get along off the field, it's what they do on the field that matters. Why is this situation so different?
  8. True that we didn't give him much of a chance. But I'm convinced that a better QB could have done better with what we had. Managment definitely could have given him more to work with. And funny how we all think the O-line is horrible. It's not a first class line, but its better than we think. The guys on the radio were mentioning how NFL people actually respect our line and think it has talent. But I have faith that Richard Smith will do a good job in the draft, no matter what we get in the first couple rounds.
  9. Wow. That just sounds weird and sudden after four years. I'm gonna miss David.
  10. Didn't Tampa Bay just acquire Jeff Garcia? Schaub has a lot more potential than Carr. I only say that b/c Carr has proven by his play on the field that he can't get it done most of the time. Schaub hasn't had the chance, so that's why he actually has potential.
  11. Number one, it's all over the radio that when Carr is traded that the best they can do is get a late first DAY pick. So we won't even get close to getting those draft picks. No way we're going to get even one second round pick out of him. It would a friggin steal if we got a third round pick out of someone. And it's very possible that he could be cut, and it's for salary cap issues. There are always notable players who are flat out cut, and this is not an exception. It's possible, and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.
  12. Yeah, they were comparing him to Hassleback too. I would take a Hassleback or Delhomme anyday, too.
  13. Yeah, and look at what happened. Their coach quit I'm sure partly b/c of Owens, he didn't play well, and he was a huge distraction all season long. Good organizations take character into account for a reason. And everyone is so big on Ginn and I'm not. Yeah, he's lightning fast, but I just wonder about his route running capabilities. I haven't heard if they're good or bad, but normally guys like that are hail-mary kind of guys and that's it. All anyone ever talks about when referring to him is that he's a play-maker/game-breaker. Well, lets just see if he can get open on NFL cb's. Plus, we already have a guy like him in Jerome Mathis. Personally, I'd stay away from Ginn unless it was the third round our later. Or else he could be a total bust.
  14. No way McNair approves of a bad-character guy like that. And since Kubiak hires high-character guys, I doubt Smith or Kubiak would even consider it anyway. I'd take the talent though. I thought I heard or read that they may take a WR in the first couple rounds though. So you can keep your fingers crossed. And who knows, if Schaub pans out, he'll make Johnson and Owens look good anyway.
  15. The guys on 610 have been saying that the Texans are having a hard time even getting a second DAY pick for Carr. We're not gonna even come close to getting back what we had to give up for Schaub, with a Carr trade. There's a very good possibility that we might just have to waive him and not get ANYTHING in return, except for cap room. As for Schaub, I heard on the radio that the Vikings wanted to get Schaub for a first round pick LAST year. So although you may not have heard of him until THIS off-season, his name has been out there for a while and people have wanted him. The only reason we're getting him is b/c the old Falcons coach, Mora, would not even talk trade for him. Many people wanted Schaub to take Vicks place. So he's very popular among NFL people.
  16. Right. We still have a first round pick, we just took their spot and they took ours. And we gave them this years and next years second round pick. Without being able to look down the road, this is proabably a good deal. But we all know we have to wait until we see what happens on the field. And to get Schaub, a first was a must. They weren't going to take anything less.
  17. We're swapping first round picks with them this year and will give them our second round picks for this year and next year too?!! This kid better be worth it, that's a lot of talent there! And if this is true, we can all kiss our Adrian Peterson hopes goodbye!
  18. I've never heard of this until now. Anyone know where this project stands? It says it was supposed to break ground in summer '06. I'm assuming it didn't happen.
  19. Except that I won't be able to afford to bowl there. Wow, that's crazy.
  20. Hah, what's that supposed to mean? And I didn't know there were host institutions. So what kind of involvment will they have?

  22. Can someone run a link to mapquest for this site? I'm not at all familiar with this area you're talking about.
