  1. I'd rather not have any neon lighting. If any lights are gonna be on, for the most part, natural light that bulbs create look best IMO.
  2. I was browsing in skyscrapercity and someone mentioned this project as one of the top five in the area. It seems like a big deal, but nobody here talks about it. Or at least not since I've been an active member. Is this going to happen?
  3. Does visiting HAIF and reading of all this growth remind anyone of watching a clock tick or looking at every mile marker on a cross-country road trip? I can't wait until we get there, but it feels like it's taking forever. I guess I'll just enjoy the "landscape" like cranes until we finally arrive.
  4. Thanks for the video. I was looking for it last night. Too bad all this stuff is for rich people.
  5. New article on this. It suggests that the county may pick up some of the tab. http://chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/4676660.html
  6. Well, the draft. Of course. If you're asking how the Rockets would have a draft position to even have the ability to get him...I don't know. But that's what he said. He said something about the possibility of the Suns having the no. 4 pick. So I guess it's possible somehow?
  7. Durant may or may not enter the draft. There's legitimate evidence that he may stay in college for at least another year. If you follow sports a lot, there's a good chance you know who Bill Simmons, "the sports guy" is on ESPN.COM's Page Two. He's hilarious and knows his stuff. But in this podcast w/ Chad Ford, he mentions something about Durant going to Phoenix or Houston in the draft. I heard that and was like, "what?" But he knows his stuff, so maybe some way, some how there's a chance. Anyway...it's a really good podcast. So here it is: http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/podcas...ayer?id=2819032
  8. Is that what it was originally built to be or was it converted? That's weird lookin, but cool too. At least from an arial view.
  9. Thanks for doing that, I appreciate it. Do yall know what that is to the north-west of the lot? That looks weird.
  10. I searched on flickr. One person said that they have booths that you can set up every Saturday I think, to sell art for $15. Cool. Other than that, does someone have a block I can search for on live.com? I've never been to this park and want to check it out.
  11. I agree with him that in general, he's correct. I however, am not easily offended. The comment was harmless and nothing against Christianity was said. So, it's funny
  12. As many on here like to say...BINGO That's actually funny. The Caption comment that is, which didn't for some reason post.
  13. So I'm assuming then, that the cost for any office space DT is relatively the same?
  14. Say there are two or three new towers downtown and there's a company looking to move into one of them. It seems like what the tower looks like on the outside would be the last aspect they'd consider in making a decision. I thought it was all about location. I don't know if a couple of blocks makes a difference or not, or if it's just enough to be in the general vicinity of the cbd.
  15. So what would it take for a developer to go along with some architecture that is really worth it? Someone who has integrity, lots of money, a love for the city, a love for architecture, for beauty? With money being the bottom line, it must be hard.
  16. Yeah, I see no problem mixing it up. It's not like we haven't already.
  17. It is? yeah, it does seem like it would be better facing the park, but maybe it will give them a little more privacy, in a way, from the public who's at the park? I dont know.Maybe someone could shed a little light on why they might do that. What's an evolving park?
  18. I think I know where he might be coming from though. I think he says that b/c it helps the area become more livable when more residents move in.
  19. Encouraging to see that they didn't even know it and that they're just focused on playing better basketball. That will bode well for them come playoff time.
  20. "Trammell Crow Co. is planning to build a tower on the eastern end of downtown" - Discovery Tower "That's led other developers to plan new buildings as well..." "Brookfield Properties of New York...is working on plans for a new downtown tower." "Fort Worth-based Crescent Real Estate Equities Co. also said it will announce a building this year that will be attached to its existing Houston Center complex." - Does someone have an address for this place so I can look it up on mapquest? "And Hines also is preparing for the development of a downtown building, but it won't announce anything until plans are complete." "But prospects for the proposed towers aren't unlimited, leaving some to question the amount of space potentially being added at one time..."The thing that remains to be seen is whether we will go too far and overbuild," Robinson said." Obviously all these different firms know that each one of them is planning a new tower, right? So regardless, it looks like each one of these is speculativly promising, yes? They all seem to think the tenants will be there. And if these towers go up, it seems like downtown living would be that much more in demand as well, and we could possibly see another residential tower, no? And how come all these were sort of announced all at once, yet Discovery T. was the only one to get an article in the HBJ? B/c they're further along and it looks more likely to happen? --- Sorry for all the questions. I must have woke up on the high energy side of the bed this morning.
