  1. I was just thinking that we're due for a hindesky photo extravaganza. Thanks for all the great pics. I really like the way this one is turning out... RIP Foley's but this is a great addition to the area. Can't wait to see the finished product.
  2. I wasn't sure if this merited its' own thread, but this is going up roughly 2 blocks away at Fannin & Wichita...
  3. Wasn't there a rumor about a residential high-rise at this location awhile back? Maybe I'm confusing it with the Vantage just up Cambridge, but I could have sworn that there were plans to replace this Kroger with resi.
  4. Don't know about the worst, probably Nick Wright, but the best are Fred and AJ from The Blitz.
  5. Except for the fact that no one else has one, which does, by definition, make it unique. I like it because it's something that can actually influence the game, in rare situations. No one has ever gotten hurt from the hill, but the off chance that someone might plow into the flag pole makes those deep balls to center exciting.
  6. Disappointed. I love Tal's Hill, it makes our stadium unique. And it's nearly impossible to hit a home run to center field, whereas now the wall will be moved up 25+ feet.
  7. I happened to walk by a sign for what looks like a new restaurant/bar (the sign says "Southern Table & Bar) next door to Prohibition last night (corner of Main and Prairie) called The Moonshiners last night. I didn't see anything about it on here yet...
  8. Yeah I was mistaken, I guess they are the ones marketing it. They had an open house type thing in their office in the Mosaic last weekend with this property, Oaks on Caroline, and other properties.
  9. Land is cleared and they're working on pilings and such. Lots of portable cranes/pile drivers but no tower crane yet. Really not a whole lot to see yet in terms of actual building structure, it's mostly just dirt still at this point.
  10. Just to be clear, that picture is not a rendering nor is it even the actual location, it's just a stock picture of the med center. The building in the foreground is the new Baylor hospital at OST & Cambridge. The location of this project is Fannin & Lehall (just south of Braeswood), and it is only 27 units so probably not very tall.
  11. The Dallas one does. I haven't seen any other ones in person, but I'm assuming the downtown Houston one doesn't have it because of that stupid signage rule. Though Embassy Suites has finally put up signage and Hilton Americans has always had it so maybe that's changed, or doesn't apply to hotels.

    United Airlines

Found a diagram showing the plan. The part in green is the terminal C north renovation/new pier that broke ground today (previously was going to be phase 3 of terminal B north). Looks like the removal of the banjos and reconstruction of B north will occur after this and possibly after terminal D. This makes some sense, as B north will be able to connect to C when complete.

Ok per airliners.net it's going to occupy the space starting at C24 west to B84. So the banjos will survive unfortunately.

Where exactly is this going/what is it replacing? From the article it says the existing terminal C north would be demolished after this is complete, so I'm assuming it will go to the west of the current terminal C north. But is it actually replacing the banjos at terminal B, or is it going in between the two, near the hotel where B84 is? One would think if it was replacing the banjos it would be called the new terminal B north terminal but who knows.
  15. I'm guessing this is different from Champps sports bar? There used to be one on Westheimer near Westchase and I believe there is still one in Uptown Park. Sounds like a different restaurant chain though.
  16. Apparently they are much better with wood than concrete. That's a cool pic, being able to see the layout of the apartments on the parts that aren't covered yet.
  17. The other location was 6314 Antoine. http://www.yelp.com/biz/house-of-pies-houston
  18. Both China Airlines and Pakistan Airlines were one-stop routes (probably why they failed) in the mid-2000s-ish, but I can't remember exactly what the middle cities were. I believe the routings were... Houston - Seattle (or Anchorage?) - Taipei and Houston - Manchester (I think) - Karachi
  19. Yup, I park there for work. If I get there late I have to park on the 14th (highest) floor, and it doesn't take long at all to get to the top, maybe 2-3 minutes at most including two gates (unless you get stuck behind a patient who stops at literally every spot looking for parking, which can take ages). But I imagine at 5 PM on a workday leaving this garage would be a disaster.
  20. A sign is up with the new name... Capella Museum District. Could someone who knows how to do these things change the name of the thread? Unfortunately my attempt at a high-speed drive-by photo didn't work out very well, but I'll get another one tomorrow.
  21. Day-las Street it is. Does anyone else HATE how they pronounce it in New York? I always correct them when I'm there, they get quite irritated.
  22. Has anything happened with ANY of the Surge Homes properties? They came in guns-a-blazin' with 10 different multifamily projects/townhomes but have been extremely quiet since then. I wonder if their representative who has an account on here can provide information on any progress (or lack thereof).
