  1. From the Chronicle this morning. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Super-Bowl-driving-major-projects-5371617.php?cmpid=btfpm
  2. Houston was on ABC's "Scandal" this week. Skyline shots were used and their President was supposed to head here for a Gun Debate (cause Texas lol)
  3. It's the day I choose to skip the bar on the walk home that I nearly get run over by a crazed, impatient driver ...that was a close one.

  4. Man, between the #HoustonDynamo & the #HoustonRockets, it's a fun time to be a sports fan in this town.

  5. Its not just Disco Green. Projects a lining up all around the Rusk/Capitol corrider and I think its becuase of the rail lines. 6 Houston Center, Old Texaco renovation, 609 Main, New Convetion Center Hotel, Hyatt Place/Homestead dual hotel, Trammel Crow reisdental high rise, HSPVA, Nau Center ....its clear, the Rusk/Capitol corrdor is the new Downtown hotspot.
  6. #SupportLocalLiveMusic

  7. http://twitter.com/ThaChadwick/status/436948497984536576/photo/1 Is this the base of the cranes?
  8. There may be more of a view of 500 Crawford from the ballpark (and vice-versa) now that the Astros are moving the Community Leaders billboards from above left ....coincidently after construction starts on 500 Crawford. http://brianmctaggart.mlblogs.com/2014/01/14/astros-to-relocate-signs-in-left-field-2/
  9. Anyone know the status of the mural and if it will be disassembled & moved/saved? I really hope there's some way it could be saved.
  10. Agreed. That was first thought that crossed my mind when I saw empty lot this morning as I rode train to work. That lot is heavily used by Reliant employees at Travis Tower nearby. Sucks for them ...looks like this is a go.
  11. Hilcorp does own the Americana site. And everything has closed on that block except for the Subway. Gone are Zero's, Popeyes, JCI. Also, note the tunnel across Travis to the Macy's garage is shown in the site plan.
  12. I would love for 3 Allen Center to get a new facade since it has the most impact on our skyline of the Allen Center buildings. But hopefully all three Allen Center buildings & the DoubleTree get new facades that compliment each other, kind of like 4 Allen Center (1400 Smith) now compliments it's younger siblings in the Chevron complex.
  13. EDIT - Link added: http://m.pinterest.com/pin/335518240960212731/ The Pinterest link posted earlier also contains a shot of the PDF for this building, where Stream/Essex describes it as a 41-story building. In that same PDF shot I referenced above, Stre/Essex shows a concept of this view ...albeit from the air and not from Buffalo Bayou/Sabine St bridge.
  14. Correct: Only the middle of the 3 blocks will have an expanded courtyard. The fencing in the front (main st) entrence is for construction of a decorative fountain.
  15. I guess it's time to cue up the ole Ron Paul "It's Happening" gif... http://twitter.com/GreenStreetHou/status/368450858377154560/photo/1
  16. If somehow both 609 Main & International Tower get built, I'd imagine the skyline will literally have a "ski slope" look on the east edge from the 45 North view. And they said Houston was flat. We'd have a mountain of steel & glass lol!
  17. Never seen this rendering ....BOTSW Tower with Downtown skyline.
  18. So by April 1st a collection of new spots are opening up in NoDo. They include Goro & Gun, Captain Foxheart's, Bad News Bar, Batanga Tapas, Spirit Lounge and Clutch City Squire Bar. This inaddition to OKRA, Hearsay, La Carafe, Dean's & Warren's Dare I say it ....is Downtown coming back alive again?!?
  19. I will be there (since I work nearby and end my work day at 5pm) The invite says San Jac between Dallas & Lamar will be the hub of activity. I wonder if this is a preview to their plan ...refocusing development toward the street on the Dallas & Lamar sides of Pavillions.
  20. It maybe worth noting that 1110 Main Partners owns the Macy's Block, as well as the Macy's Garage & the Americana Building on the the adjacent block. That's 2 city blocks in the center of Downtown. And only Subway is left open now (everything else has been closed) One can only wonder what they'd need 2 city blocks for...
  21. Not exactly. IIRC, the districts plan for Avenida De Las Americas was to create dedicated Bus Lanes for drop off on the East side of the median (closer to GRB) while leaving the western portion of the median for vehicular traffic.
