  1. Man that would be something if that was true.
  2. I think the Houston food scene has always been very diverse compared to many other cities. There has to be a reason why we are always buying bigger belts. Good article though, Houston always needs more praise.
  3. I can't wait for this royal wedding to be behind us. I'm tired of hearing about it. American's shouldn't even care about this crap.
  4. Prayin for some rain this week.

  5. I think he was expecting to see some steam. Since most restaurants shoot some extra marinade sauce onto the plancha before they bring it out to get it smoking.
  6. If they are going to legalize it, I want to see some legit hotel casinos and not dumps like Louisiana has where everyone is walking around with an oxygen mask wearing a tank top and cut off jeans. I sincerely doubt it will happen, but I do agree that something has to give. If someone wants to destroy their family with a gambling addiction, at least they would be doing it in Texas. Fertitta has nothing to lose and everything to gain here, not surprised he was in the video.
  7. Has anyone that frequents downtown noticed anymore progress with the building since the last picture post?
  8. Shane is a pretty decent player but he also has such a great heart and love for giving back to the community. His presence is definitely missed here in Houston. Go Grizz!
  9. I'd take the kukui, nessie, chupacabra, sasquatch, and unicorn mural over that ugly wall any day. I think a green sasquatch would just remind me of the ho ho ho...green giant. haha
  10. I think a good "green" mural would be nice, similar to rainbow tower in hawaii. Something that would compliment the discovery green mentality.
  11. It is a really nice piece. I am really curious and excited to see what they come up with for block 59. It's just a waiting game from here on out.
  12. Maybe it is just me but it looks like that might be somebody standing outside of a window on the left side of that picture, which would mean all of it couldn't be CG. If it is in fact CG I would have made sure those umbrellas were straight. My opinion is that it is a model.
  13. This is awesome news! It is always sad to see historic buildings fall under such sad condition and be left for dead like the old Wilson Building was. Always a great day in Houston when someone decides to save a piece of the past.
  14. I don't know about yall but I think they are fun to watch. Seriously. There is no expectations, and we are supposed to have a crappy season. I've enjoyed watching the speed and youthfulness of some of our players. Steals seem to be plentiful. I think they need time to gel as a team. I am an optimist and think they will get better as the season goes along.
  15. I don't know. I think someone's head ought to roll for this monumental travesty of a decision. It's just another reminder of how deplorable our leadership has become in this country. Where's the integrity?
  16. Chuch Shumer enrages me!

  17. It may be just me, but I've become a lot more weary on anything going up these days. You can call it the recession blues, because I won't be excited until I see the movement of mass people and dirt. There seems to have been waay to many let downs among projects in Houston in the past few years and I think it might have gotten to people's architectural spirit. I do however see the potential for this building to wake people up and restore some optimism. These days I am just lacking that optimism when I see a rendering and am told/read it's going up.
  18. Yeah, it would be a great a great boost to the city and the future.
  19. Sugarland Skeeters....what a horrible name

Agreed. Why couldn't they have picked a name that reflected their history, like the Sugar Land Imperials? Perhaps Little Anthony won't let them take the name? heh.

Actually the Sugar Land Imperials was the name I was rooting for.

  20. This thread needs to sink to the pile of dead threads already. Tired if seeing it
  21. Is Houston participating in Earth Hour Day tonight by turning off their lights for an hour?
