  1. Trinity Episcopal Church of Houston began as a "cottage mission," or "branch Sunday school," of Christ ... building. It was a small wooden chapel, located in the Fairgrounds Addition, on Louisiana Street, between Tuam and Drew streets. Later ...
  2. That would be an interesting topic. Hopefully, somebody can find some history of this (Fairgrounds).
  3. HPD arrested the owner of Boondocks on Westheimer due to noise. I think I read that in the Press. Lemecheck - http://blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/2012/02/boondocks_owner_arrested_noise.php
  4. Looks like they've got some extensive construction ahead of them.
  5. "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed." Yeah, let's just sell it, since it has no meaning to this city.
  6. The Shell Oil facility on Bellaire at Braes used to have a siren. City Hall had one that sounded every Friday at noon.
  7. That was my first thought too. I'll be heading over that way this weekend and will check it out further.
  8. Anybody been by here lately? Last time I was, there was a pretty substantial project going on. I appeared that this project will have below grade parking, but I'm not sure.
  9. Wow, then they'll have quick access to 3 stations, well 4, if you count the new Main station as 2 (1 station, 2 directions).
  10. This is really close to where the new train station will be.
  11. We've got better shots on here than the Chron.
  12. I'd rather see them refurb it. It takes up most of that block. Also, it'd look a whole lot better if they would take down those nasty drapes.
  13. Stucco on cinder block is hardly noteworthy.
  14. I wonder if the canvass canopy is for that restaurant. It appears to be of the Prince's Drive-In vintage.
  15. Most of the space is common area, seating and food prep, so they've really organized the small grocery area well. I think the downstairs "cellar" is really cool.
  16. That's right. Height was added to the cafeteria floor, overlooking Disco Green, and it's near the bottom. That cafeteria is fancy enough to have a reception or banquet.
  17. Discovery Tower did. It was almost finished by the time Hess signed up.
  18. The strip centers were there long before the high rises. Four Leaf towers and all those buildings, plus Transco were built in the 80. I think Post Oak Central was the 70's.
  19. Here's an article with pictures. http://www.29-95.com/gallery/georgias-market-downtown I'll bet the opening date is a typo, as there are others in the article.
  20. Friday is January 27th, so it must be a typo. The apples certainly won't last that long.
  21. I thought it was a new Comcast sports network. I can't remember where I read about it yesterday.
  22. The produce and some of the coolers are stocked. Maybe they're going to open tomorrow.
