  1. When the first game starts it will lock all picks and you can see everyone's picks and confidence. Coming up to the last games, you'll be able to do some math (and it'll show you PPR) to figure out the likely scenario. Looking at tomorrow's games, I think I have single digit confidence on all of them, so even if I'm right I won't have much to show for it.
  2. Anyone know where to get wood pellets for an electric smoker (gift for the pops). I've seen wood chips, not pellets.
  3. Centrist (40/40). Not surprising, I think most political parties are idiots most of the time.
  4. Ha, I thought it was a good idea to try out our chocolate fountain (gift that sat in the closet for 2 years) at the company pot luck. Well, it was a great idea. And then later it didn't feel like a great idea. Let the overeating continue! January is for regretting.
  5. Skeeters, are those the blood sucking little annoying insects? We do have a lot of those. Oh damn, that is what they mean. I can't decide if I like that or not. I guess it's better than the Gnats.
  6. My favorite view of downtown is from the west side, coming over the Durham bridge over White Oak bayou, and to a lesser extent Shepherd on the bridge over Allen/Memorial (it's closer and the angle is better but there is some tree blockage), just before the sun comes up. The natural light makes downtown look awesome before the sun pops above the horizon. Every morning I come that way, I wish I had my camera (and 2 extra hands).
  7. Oops, I jumped the gun and replied in the original 2010 thread. Um, here it is again. 1. $88 right now, but when did I mean? Who knows. It was $72 at some point last year. Badly framed prediction 2. Doh! 3. Correct 4. It was the 4th wettest July in recorded history for Houston! 5. Tomato plant died. Gone. Lemon tree came back to life somehow 6. It worked!! I should get some kind of payment for that, right? Not bad, 4 out of 5. The first one was dumb.
  8. You are right, bowl importance has nothing to do with it. You get the points that you assign to a game if you pick it right. I think it plays on those emotional homer or hater picks even more than the against-the-spread format. Once it locks, your picks will be shown in chronological order to make it easier. Points are given as games complete, and on the group page it will show totals and possible points remaining after each game.

  10. I think that number is down around 40% since the Heights Wal-Mart and historic district topics have been up. Lately it's been mostly h-town on h-town bickering.
  11. That dash looks a lot better to me. Maybe it's just the overall styling as opposed to the individual element that I don't like.
  12. LDPE, or even LLDPE which the dry cleaners use for those super thin cover things. HDPE is good stuff.
  13. Is that an analog clock on the dash? If so it's fitting, I think Chrysler's are fugly and have horrible styling.
  14. Downtown shots during MNF tonight looked pretty dark, but I like it.
  15. Not specifically but maybe in general. And I'll be mad if Apple goes up that much more after I've already sold it in real life...
  16. The only way to win this is to find stuff that has the potential to have a huge percent increase. Some of the steady stuff, or things already high priced, don't leave much option for that. Just sayin'.
  17. The 't after "can" is a lot to leave out when you want to make a coherent point. Those things aren't easily recycled I guess. Plastic bags I get, it would take a huge amount to get any mass of material to work with. Paper cups and plates, maybe it's because of the wax they put on it. That wouldn't play well when trying to smash back into pulp.
  18. Tomorrow they'll make up today's game in Detroit. Next Monday night would be their last home game, and since they were trying to play at the university of Minnesota today (said they couldn't get it ready in time), my guess is it will be there.
  19. I like how you can see completely through the building. Unless the vantage point is on a huge hill, otherwise the reflection tree-line would never line up with the background one.
  20. I love that orange color. This thread makes me want to buy things I can't afford, I should block it or something.
  21. Half of it in Bank of Ireland (NYSE IRE), right now 179.2 shares at $2.79 per Half of it in Allied Irish Banks (NYSE AIB), right now 400 shares at $1.25 per
  22. To hell with conference loyalty. There is no reason to do anything other than hate Auburn and hope they lose. Unless you are pulling for them to win, and then a couple months later have it all taken away due to rules violations. That might be almost as good as losing.
  23. Most of the high traffic roundabouts I've seen in England have traffic lights, it's not a free-for-all. Those are usually just on smaller roads. A roundabout with lights is still useful, it allows for new traffic to start going well before the previous traffic exits the intersection.
  24. The GM stock would have been converted to something else, something that sounded government owned. I didn't keep watching it up to the IPO to see what would have happened there. I would hope it would carry on as GM but IPO rules might prevent that for whatever reason. But the Ford stuff is for real...I actually went real-world on that one, though not quite as low as at the beginning of this thread. Another big real world winner was snagging some Apple at $96.
