  1. I only went there one time, just to check it out. I didn't see anything really unique offered, but I could have missed something. I would think that if you're going to try to open a small market you have to do something really well or offer things you can't get elsewhere, because you're not going to get by on volume sales. EDIT: I didn't mean to criticize so much as ask the question: do they offer anything unique?
  2. That wasn't me feeding the nutria! Afro ducks were around, here's one, bottom left.
  3. Eh, I'm from LA, we're used to them. That wasn't me feeding them by hand though. I stay away from bright orange teeth as a rule. I would love to collect $3 a head though...OR, they could take them as a barter for the train tickets, which are $2.50. The extra 50 cents they would get could go toward cold storage or butchering while they stockpile between trips to the wildlife department to collect the bounty. EDIT: And no, not my slippers. I don't think my feet were ever as small as baby girl's.
  4. Nice cool day to feed the ducks. Um, and the nutria. Awesome. Ducks... Feeding between baby feet... Geese... And giant rats!!! Hooray invasive species!
  5. Mike Hampton...right. You can count on what, 3 games out of him? The Astros typical MO has been to get way into the cellar by the end of May, and then try to pull some amazing comeback Aug-Sep. It worked a couple times. This year they will only dive further into the cellar.
  6. Cafe Adobe...but without happy hour? What's the point? Not going.
  7. The Prairie View A&M band was in the Rose Parade...not sure if that happens every year but it was nice to see some local play.
  8. Stupid Sam Houston race park two guys race-peeing at the urinals made the funniest commercials tv show. Yes, my parents have the remote. But I brought my wireless router to their house to keep myself entertained. If America's Funniest Home Videos or Who Wants to be a Millionaire comes on I'm gonna find some errands to run.
  9. Website still hasn't changed. If you can still vote on the tenants you want (completely different than choosing who lands there), they probably don't have any signed up. http://www.waterlightsdistrict.com/
  10. I don't think 288 has the volume to reasonably support commuter rail. It's suburbia, not urban center to urban center. I highly doubt all those people driving up 288 in the morning are going to ditch their cars for waiting for a train and then transferring onto buses when they get there. Most of them spend 10-15 minutes just to get to 288 because the freakin idiotic suburban traffic light system and roads are designed and run by morons.
  11. Is there a Dell store at the mall? The internet says yes, but when I call it's not a good number any more. I need a laptop part and can't stand talking to the Dell people on the phone. Everyone hates them.
  12. I agree that tolerance is pretty lame, but since I don't actually have to speak to the bridge (unless you have to answer it 3 questions to pass?) I will never really use its name. It is the pedestrian bridge over the bayou.
  13. Oooh, bring your own fake headset and you can sing-along to the recording with her! Yeah, poor Jeebus. I've never had a issue with McCormick & Schmick food so at least if you go there the pregame will be good. $1.95 bacon cheeseburger if you go during happy hour! (and eat in the bar area, assuming this one is like most others)
  14. I just want a good old man hat since I feel old now. Bear Bryant style but nothing to do with bama. Because I don't hang out in malls. And usually hats come to me for free. I think I bought one when I was 12. Yes, that's what I'm talking about. Cool old man. Poncho or trench coat?
  15. Whoa! My 11 month old redheaded daughter wants to play with yours. She loves mirrors and we have rarely seen another redhead, I am sure it would amuse her to the point of insanity.
  16. What is LIDS? If it's hats, can I get an old school fedora there? Or is that not trendy enough for HP?
  17. On MNF they just showed a nice huge freeway interchange from the blimp. Pure Houston.
  18. Whoa man, settle. To each his own. You can like new stuff, others can like old stuff. Don't have an aneurysm because of it. If someone likes it, they will buy it. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Everyone is free to give their opinion without the name calling. I live in a newer house by the way, but I get why others don't.
  19. Plastic cup beers for everyone then!! I'll come walk by outside when they put up the big screens. Not going to be shopping or bowling there though.
  20. Oh I'm definitely not saying it's a bad thing. I might even enjoy it. It'll just be a weird adjustment. Unless it's way expensive, then I'll go bowl with the poor people and drink beer out of a plastic cup.
  21. Were these restrictions for all lanes or just this reservable lounge place? Where can a guy soil himself and roll a few spares these days? Upscale classy bowling alley, does not compute...
  22. If I wasn't clear, that was my hidden point. More like sabbath>>>>>>rush. Um, to pretend I am on topic sometimes, what do we know about the bowling alley? Since I'm not the least bit trendy I won't be buying any clothes at this 21 place, and paying for parking to buy books isn't at the top of my list. But if there's a bowling alley near me with late/early specials and rented shoes, sign me up.
  23. No it's fairies that wear boots...and there's nothing to fear about Canadians.
  24. The music and quality reminds me of film strips we watched in class in the 80s. And it was just about moving heads. Tell me more has happened than that.
