  1. There are three reviews on Yelp. All of them 1 star. I recently moved much closer to downtown and actually thought about moving into downtown. It just didn't make sense though. I bought a new house near Regent Square instead. I'm paying about the same as the largest units in Skyhouse for 2.5 times the square footage and I own it.
  2. I wondered the same thing. My best guess was that it has something to do with the in-floor re-configurable climate control that this building has.
  3. That's been my experience with Exxon also. Of course I work in downstream, upstream is much more spendy. Our CEO once sent an email to all the IT staff when an IT guy offered to give him a new computer. He was angry that an IT guy would offer to give someone a new piece of equipment that would cost the company money.
  4. I'm extremely white and not very poor. I don't think I'm in the target market for this place though. Seems more like a 1st generation American type place.
  5. The "Farmer's Market" in front of City Hall is a joke. At least it was when I last went a few years ago. Just a bunch of people selling useless junk. Most of it was not food related.
  6. Did you just make up the word drone-jack? It might be worth getting your drone stolen to be the first person that was drone-jacked. Imagine the fame!
  7. There is a Meridien in NY City right at the South end of Central Park. It's a very nice hotel. Last time I was there I believe it was about $700 a night.
  8. What place? I can't tell what you are responding to.
  9. Why would people that live in Skyhouse get on 610? I drive around this area all the time and live nearby and I never get on 610. That's for people that live in the sticks and have to drive on highways to work.
  10. Maybe he'll change it from Muslim Outreach back to it's core mission.
  11. I always felt like I was in Logan's Run around the Hyatt Regency. There was some filming for that movie done there but I think it was not used in the film.
  12. Is there any reason to believe that the nightmare security issues that airports have won't be replicated with high speed rail? What's to keep this from becoming the same as airports where you have to show up an hour plus in advance and go through TSA?
  13. The tunnels kept me from getting soaked many times on my way to the office when I worked downtown. If they weren't there I probably would have driven to work so I could park in the garage instead of riding the bus and walking the last few blocks.
  14. Here's a shot of the dog park from 12.20.2014
  15. If you have any evidence of this I'd love to hear it. I'm buying a house in the area and am very interested in news about Regent Square. Its hard to take them seriously after so many years of changing and canceled plans. Their own website's latest news is from 2007.
  16. You are correct bobruss. Sorry for being so argumentative. I'm not having a good day, I should probably step away from the computer for a while.
  17. Yes. you quoted me and told me that I misunderstood his statement. That is not true.
  18. No, I am understanding his statement. I am talking about the small lake that they added a few years ago that's right next to the freeway. I stood next to it everyday waiting for the bus. I'm not sure why people think I'm talking about the other one. I'm talking about the one on the East side of Post Oak, I'm not talking about the original lakes of Post Oak. Why do you guys think I'm talking about the other one? I stood at the bus stop next to the red arrow in this picture.
  19. No, I'm talking about the one next to the freeway not the one on the other side of Post Oak.
  20. Sorry but your "No" is incorrect. Developers cannot build on land they don't own or have rights to develop on given to them by the owner. If you want to take someone's property to change that or use tax payer money to allow poorer people to live where they can't afford to pay their own way then that changes things. I'd like to live in Malibu on the beach. Maybe we can manipulate the political system to make that possible for me.
  21. Ok. I now realize that the author of that article is a man, not a woman. Check out his website if you like wasting some time. The photo he uses of himself is priceless.
  22. Seems like a bitter person to me that can't deal with change. I can't believe she actually complains about people that won't patronize businesses late at night because they have to get up to go to their oil industry jobs in the morning. Maybe if she had gone home a little earlier and gotten up earlier she would have been able to buy a place where she wants to live. Instead she wants to steal from others with rent control.
