  1. I’m still not sure why we’re taking about Kroger here. If there is evidence of activity with that site please post it. I’d be very interested in seeing it. Heavy equipment is behind Sur La Table this week tearing up all the parking.
  2. Money talks. If poor people want to live on that lot then they need to get rich.
  3. Can’t figure out what you are talking about. Nothing on the website seems to indicate any activity at the Kroger site. Where are guys seeing this? What selection on the drop down is specific to the Kroger area?
  4. I have no horse in this race but this intrigues me. Is it a first ammendment case? Who’s keeping them from speaking? Is someone keeping you from speaking? If you know the truth you can post it here.. or is someone keeping you from telling us the truth?
  5. Ok, this is not technically a regent square update but there is some activity on an adjacent site. A large portion, if not all of the land used by The Lighthouse and/or The Center just West of the Regent Square site was put up for sale a few months ago. I’ve heard no news about the sale but I did see a soil sampling crew drilling near the corner of West Dallas and Tirell Street yesterday.
  6. Me too. I walk by the site daily. If there is any movement on site I’ll update this thread right away. Don’t hold your breath. I e-mailed the VP who is supposed to be in charge and got an undeliverable message.
  7. It's only partially working. Search and Latest Posts don't work at all. I'm not sure what's going on here but the site is pretty useless as is.
  8. Do we know if the property flooded or not? The satellite photos from August 31st show it dry. I walked down to the Bayou at Memorial and Shepherd every day and the 28th appeared to be the highest day. I live near Shepherd and West Dallas, we didn't get any high water. The Shepherd drainage project that took 2 years apparently worked very well for us.
  9. Reminds me of this guy.... http://www.salon.com/2014/11/28/how_oligarchs_destroyed_a_major_american_city_partner/ I'm always amused by people that are bitter about being kicked out of a RENTAL that's getting torn down. If you like the neighborhood so much buy something. If not, it's really not your neighborhood. You're just passing through.
  10. If I was in control of RO shopping center I would consider demolishing all of it now to preempt any political interference with their control of the property and their right to decide what the best use of their property is.
  11. I live very close to this site. I walk to the midnight showings at River Oaks Theatre and Braissire 19. I'm all for them demolishing all of it, RO Theatre included, just to piss of people who try to tell property owners what they can do with their property. Anyone want to start a protest to call for RO theatre to be demolished? I'll picket out front with you.
  12. Looks nice. CPK stinks. I live very close and I'd much rather have Perry's steakhouse here. It might not be the best steakhouse but it's good for a mid priced meal.
  13. Agree on Los Tios. The food is just plain old school Tex-Mex, not really fantastic but their Margartias are awesome. If I have three margaritas there I need to be shoveled out of my chair.
  14. No. #s is doing better than ever.
  15. I never, ever rent a car when I'm out of town on business. I either use taxis, walk or Uber. You can get an Uber into downtown from this location for about $5-$7. I live right up the street and use Uber every weekend night. It's so cheap it's not even worth putting on the expense account. That being said, you're a little under a mile from a tunnel entrance from here. If I lived here and worked downtown I'd walk it everyday unless it was storming.
  16. Numbers would do well in that building.
  17. http://www.chron.com/entertainment/restaurants-bars/article/Teala-s-site-to-become-new-neighborhood-10834308.php
  18. The people that live in the neighborhood do. I walk to Kroger, Buffalo Bayou Park, River Oaks Theatre all the time and I see my neighbors out walking quite often.
  19. I walked the Western edge of the property next to the cemetery this morning. There is definitely a lot of of survey activity going on. Benchmarks have been placed. They have marked a few squares around 6ft on each side with the word "Footing" inside. Wooden stakes are all over the lot painted orange. CenterPoint has come out and marked the gas lines. Edit: After looking at the master plan I'd say the "Foooting" markings are where the theatre is shown.
