  1. Anybody have any picture updates on this building? I assume it should be rising by now. Thanks in advance!
  2. FWIW = For what it's worth Museum Tower is residential. Not office. Not sure if that matters.
  3. I saw in the Dallas Biz Journal today that Dallas may get a massive new trophy tower that may exceed 1.5 million sq. ft. with no height restrictions. Hate that... Question becomes: do you think a Dallas developer will go for the gold and erect Texas' newest tallest tower? If so, does Houston then play second fiddle to the snobs of the north? http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news/2013/11/06/ross-perot-makes-key-land-buy-in.html
  4. I think that was supposed to be the Ritz hotel wasn't it? The other residential building I thought was like 37-stories or something.
  5. Wow. Looks like the city bird is once again the 'Construction Crane'. Loving this..
  6. The nicest thing about the picture above is the peanuts. Anybody else think the first and only rendering we've seen is cheesy at best? Somebody said they saw more updated, realistic renderings! Please elaborate!!!!
  7. They have the resources but not the people to fill a 1.7 million sq. ft. brand new, 50-story tower, plus both Enron buildings PLUS a campus consisting of 20 buildings and 3 million sq. ft. of office space in a suburban campus. Seems silly to have both. Who knows. I'll take what you say as rumor for now. Perhaps at the end of the day you DO know something the rest of us don't but your credibility is on the line if it all falls apart
  8. Well first things first: Enron 1 (1600 Smith?) is 50 stories. Enron 2 is 40 stories. Second, the Chevron spokesperson was on every tv channel in the city doing interviews about how they are excited to see this project rise and that it'll be a premier ubran-style campus downtown. Finally, I'm not going to call you out or call you a liar. If you say you have a friend in a big architecture firm, then by all means, I'm all ears. However, what you say doesn't make any sense so perhaps you can keep us updated? As for the renderings of the Chevron tower, it's not like Chevron spent a ton of money on their rendering. It was one rendering and it's a glass box that looks like it was brushed with water paint. How much thought could possibly go into it?
  9. Is that including the slanted roof where no floors are present?
  10. If using the same floor spacing as One Park Place, then 37-stories = 501 feet. Since this building is a few floors higher, it may very well push the 550' to 600' mark, yes?
  11. Can you guys use the full names of airports/airlines? I don't know what half the airport codes are. I've noticed in other threads it's the same way and I can't follow along because I have no idea what they are. Thanks in advance!
  12. Is there any legs to Air New Zealand coming to IAH? Was talking with a buddy today and he mentioned that he had heard this. A quick google search had nothing but bloggers with the same rumors. Thought I would ask you guys...
  13. I about spit out my fruitloops when I saw this this morning. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!
  14. I too agree about the reduction. It would have been like a glaring pimple on the end of a nose if this building had remained the same height. The other Allen building (tall brown one) would be totally removed from the western view of the skyline. The building, even at 35 stories, just doesn't 'fit' in that location.
  15. Ground breaking: March. http://www.avisonyoung.com/sites/default/files/market-intelligence/3Q13%20Houston%20Office%20Development%20Update.pdf
  16. This building is ugly and generic. Tall doesn't equal pretty. Looks like any ol' other building. What's the difference between this, the Sovereign, Whitco Tower (22-story in galleria area), Hines market square tower or a half dozen others that all look the same. Little character. Sorry, I'm not goo goo over this at all. Whitco: Sovereign: Market Place: Southmore Tower:
  17. Anybody have any more news on this? I suspect this is one of the most highly anticipated projects in Houston. Hate to bring a thread up from 'page 2' but just curious. When is ground breaking?
  18. Wow, nice update! This will be one of the best looking mid-rise buildings in town upon completion IMO..
