  1. I love this building! I don't think it's a great location tho. I feel like the western and northern view of the skyline is the most photogenic and most temperate and I hate for buildings to be added that would become nothing more than a zit on a pretty face....not that this building is ugly but I'm not sure it would be a good fit for the northern face skyline. Anybody following me?
  2. Okay, who cares about Jones and Hines. Any other info on this building anybody? I'm looking foward to seeing this sucker rise. Think about it, we'll have 609 main, 2929 Weslayan, BHP Billiton, Astoria, and possibly the Chevron Tower all having huge cranes in the air at the same time. How cool will that be?
  3. New pics/renderings. Looks like they are going to be ramping up the amenities in this tower...
  4. im confused. why would exxon build a new corporate campus with 20 buildings (assuming they over built to accomodate future growth) only to split their employees up again in seperate buildings a few miles away? I call bs.
  5. Can you draw? lol. If so, draw it, take a picture and post!! Pretty please?
  6. Can you give us any sort of detail? Is it just a vertical tube with little detail to the curtain wall?
  7. Can we expect a new rendering anytime soon? The first and only one they put out was lame-o at best. I hope there's more to it than just a four-sided tube. Would be somewhat disappointing, no?
  8. Clearly you need a refreshed memory lol. You don't think this building is sexy at all??? It's definitely one of the most interesting buildings in Houston..
  9. Coming right along. Can't wait to see the finished product. One of the sexiest buildings under construction in all of Houston IMO.
  10. Is this to be taken seriously? lol. Looks more like the "Joke of the Day." So many global petroleum companies have recently broke ground on their new headquarters here in Houston. The pipeline that our d-bag president won't approve is planned to end at Houston. We have one of the largest ports in the world. We sit next to the salt domes. We're next to spindletop for pete sake. It's nothing more than a grand delusion to think Philly would EVER compete with Houston for "Energy Capital". Not to mention, the weather in Houston is far more luring to many people than Philly's.
  11. Very nice. Now if we could just get a full front view

Any hope of getting a Johannesburg route from IAH or Tel Aviv or Sydney? Those seem like cool places that I'd like to see IAH serve direct.
  13. Saw this on skyscraperpage. Anybody know of this proposed 25-story gem? http://midwaycompanies.com/img/leasing/site-plans/GS-131031-Merchandising_Plan.pdf
  14. Wow! That would be one of the most architecturally inspiring buildings in all of Houston if built like that. Totes awesome..
  15. Saw on skyscraperpage that the 10 story Montrose building will be torn down and replaced with a 30-story highrise by Hanover. Anybody else heard this? Here's the Biz Journal article on the building... http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/blog/breaking-ground/2013/11/iconic-montrose-tower-will-bow-to.html
  16. This building couldn't be in a worse spot. I don't give a rats ass if it was 100 stories. It'll ruin the western view of the skyline. I hate this project.
  17. Stupid question here, but what is the lifespan of these downtown buildings. I suppose if I looked at NYC or Chicago I can get an idea (Empire, Crysler, Woolworth, ect.) but this building is already over 50 years old. Can we expect it to be sound and leasable 50 years from now?
  18. Yeah but the original condo tower that we've all seen renderings of is missing from the picture. Interesting.
  19. I spoke to a woman at the bowling alley a few months ago who works for Anadarko and she confirmed the rumor that plans were in the works for a third tower across Lake Robbins which is exactly where the picture above indicates. From the looks of the picture, the building will be around 20 to 25 stories. Appears to be shorter than Allison and Hackett towers...
  20. Awesome! If this is office, then we're looking at yet another building topping 500' in Houston! I would add that I am cautiously optimistic because that is prolly the cheapest rendering I've seen since the Chevron tower. Looks tacky. Do big companies not believe in decent renderings any more?
  21. Uhhh, I agree LTAWACS. Although I do think the city of Houston (or any city for that matter) starts counting highrises at 10 stories. However, I would argue 10 stories is definitely a MIDrise.
