  1. Is there any hope of reviving the Auckland route---even if ANZ has to pick up the route instead of United? Since we don't have a chance at Qantas (thanks to Dallas), maybe ANZ would consider us. I'd rather see that than Air India.
  2. Chronicle on it as well: http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2014/10/randall-davis-plans-downtown-condo-tower/
  3. I just looked at the map. This will be buried along the edge of The Woodlands in the woods at the corner of 242 and 1488. This won't be seen at all from 45 and will be pretty well hidden unless you intentially travel along 1488.
  4. WOW, this looks amazing!!! So is this at 242 and 45 or 1488 and 45? The two aren't close together. So gotta be one or the other.
  5. Can anybody draw it on paper to give us an idea of what we're likely to see?
  6. With oil prices collapsing, I hope the Houston market doesn't cool down too much before Capitol Tower can break ground. Seems to be a race against time.
  7. I don't think this is as big of a secret as you guys are making it out to be. There was a tidbit in the Chron about how Anadarko has space for another 600,000 sq. ft. tower in the near future. Trying to find the article now. Here it is! http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2014/04/anadarko-campus-in-the-woodlands-could-grow-again/#13441101=0
  8. Why all the skeptisim around this building? All signs point to this going up. Seems like there are quite a few on this board who seem to think this is not a done deal.
  9. Can somebody repost the webcam link? There's 52 pages here and I don't wanna search for it, lol.
  10. What's different about this rendering? I like this building because of it's dominance, not it's architecture marvel. I personally like the north/south front of the building better than I do the spine----which seems to be the only rendering anybody is proud of.
  11. Found this to be an interesting tidbit. Are they referring to Exxon or a new, upcoming corporation? The new Anadarko tower? The vision of the late George P. Mitchell, the founder of The Woodlands, has come to fruition. In the last few decades, families and young professionals have flocked to the 28,000 forested acres for a master-planned community that houses high-end retail shops, diverse restaurants and -- soon to come -- massive corporations. http://www.chron.com/neighborhood/woodlands/article/The-Woodlands-then-and-now-5751533.php Btw, does anybody have a subscription to the chronicle? I'd like to read the article on the $1.5 billion dollar study on south Montgomery County... http://www.houstonchronicle.com/neighborhood/woodlands/news/article/Study-1-5-billion-needed-to-ease-congestion-in-5764802.php
  12. LOL! I literally busted out laughing at the picture comparing Hong Kong to Dallas. #Hilarious
  13. Hmmm, 437' seems rather squatty for a building that is 39-stories tall, yes? OPP is 501' at 37-stories. What am I missing here?
  14. 30-stories? The rendering has 38-floors per what many of you have posted. I have not bothered to count the floors in the rendering myself but still. Which is it? That's a fairly significant difference.
  15. Think of all the cranes that'll be towering over the skyline in about a year. 609 (2 or 3 cranes), One Market Square (2 cranes), Hess Tower (2 cranes), Marriott (2-3 cranes), the 10-story building next to GRB (1-2 cranes), 6 HC (2-3 cranes), Macy's site (3 cranes). It's gonna be bad ass. It'll rival the exxon site I bet.
  16. Sexy videos but what happened to the much advertised LED lights that are supposed to illuminate this thing? The tail end of the first video is a night rendering and I see nothing special in regards to lighting effects.
  17. Is the above photo-shopped image an accurate portrayal of the building? Seems 'fat' for such a narrow piece of land as seen from the image above taken from the previous poster. I figured it would resemble more One Park Place with a wide face and narrow sides and not a perfect square as seen in this rendering.
  18. If these older, low-rise apartments in the picture were living, I'm sure they'd see these new highrises as langoliers inching closer to them...eating all the old developments and being replaced with giants. These low-rise, low density buildings days are numbered if they're close to post oak. In 20 years, this'll look like midtown manhatten----but not really.
  19. I'm sure the developers of Cosmo had to of known that they weren't going to be the lone ranger for very long. I am sure that they did their homework and made sure to tell each new tenant that views aren't guaranteed for the duration of the lease agreement.
  20. It's funny how some towers seemingly shoot out of the ground instantaneously (Macy's site) and others, like this one, will be months before we get above street level. This will be a great building. I just hope I don't "Ashby Highrise it"--meaning it has taken so long that I lose interest and don't care if they ever finish it. Anybody else feel that way?
  21. They're moving right along with this thing. This tower, to me, is another example of simple but elegant IMO. It'll have a dramatic impact on the uptown skyline I think.
