  1. It's not unheard for "celebrities" to be paid to show up. For example, I have a hard time believing Kevin Garnet is a big enough soccer fan that he flew to LA just to see Beckham sit on the bench. Not that you can blame MLS--obviously it works.
  2. Wow, I definitely agree. I never really took the time to check it out until you said it had time-lapse. That is amazing. I didn't know you could actually move it!
  3. Several posts ago, a few of you referred to the exterior of the building being or no being LEED? I looked it up on wiki, and found "Low Energy Electron Diffraction". Is that correct? Can someone give an lay explanation. "The straw-man factory up and running," thats funny.

  5. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories...tml?jst=b_ln_hl ? Not exactly the same attraction, but at least it's a "theme park".
  6. I was thinking the same thing. From the list of attractions in the article this building would dwarf Reliant--I'm skeptical.
  7. Is anyone else disappointed that Civil Courthouse has no exterior lighting? The dome, at the very least, just screams to be light up at night. I think it is a missed opportunity to enhance the night skyline, especially from Minute Maid.
  8. Haha. You have my vote. I couldn't find a funner picture on the internet. Sadly, however, that looks safer than crossing Memorial at 5pm. What with people speeding home after work and being distracted the occasional attractive runner and all.
  9. Thanks. I forgot to check the Neighborhood section.
  10. Anyone know what is going up in the lot bordered by McGowen, Fannin, Dennis, and San Jacinto? It is the lot that used to have the old Fu Kim Restaurant, which has recently been demolished. I hope its another CVS.
  11. Evidently you took my quip about the heat in August and a preference to walk in air conditioning personally. As a matter of fact, I could not care less if there is a tunnel extension. The comment about wearing a suit to work had nothing to do with your, or anyone else's, job; I
  12. Obviously no one here has to wear a suit to work--in the summer. I mean, have you been around this place in August?
  13. I have a suggestion that will take care of everything: CASINO!
  14. It's a cheap sandwich shop. I used to eat at the one in Austin all the time in undergrad. They deliver too, which will be great downtown at lunch time. There's a Jimmy Johns in the shopping center south of Buffalo Speedway on the feeder road to 59. I asked the manager if they delivered to Midtown and he said, "No, but we are building one downtown next to Josephine's in a couple of months."
  15. I heard that the property across from the Pavilions and next to Josephine's is about to have a Jimmy John's. Did not hear, however, if the building was going to be knocked down and rebuilt or if they were going to renovate the existing structure.
  16. This website cracks me up. Half of you sound like aspiring Donald Trumps. I, of course, am immune from pedantic writing.
  17. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, "CASINO"!!!!!!
