  1. This would make a lot of sense. If you look at the zoo on Google Maps, a surprisingly large area is non-customer facing. It makes a lot of sense for them to consolidate and make more space for exhibits, since they can not expand outward into Hermann Park or the Medical Center
  2. I believe the ribbon cutting for Lynn Wyatt Square is going to be April 28 and the grand opening celebration will follow later in May.
  3. Based on Hindesky's drone shot, I would guess that the Lustre Pearl is still a loooong ways away. I wonder what's taking them so long
  4. That's fun news. BLT has become a neighborhood institution
  5. I think they're putting in a bunch of windows and doors to make it street-facing on White Oak. The prior building was essentially a warehouse with no windows
  6. I was talking to the owner of Padre's and he said that he thinks this is being converted into a restaurant.
  7. I could be wrong, but I think the parking garage is just for Houston Zoo staff. It seems like that office/garage building will be the HQ for the Zoo operations.
  8. Wow, the renovation looks great
  9. Gotta love those PS1 era graphics. Makes me want to go play Tekken
  10. Any updates on this Ziegler Cooper building? Paco Jones got us all excited 6 months ago, but it doesn't look like anything has happened with the lot
  11. I went through the HCAD Parcel Map yesterday to pull that info. Skansa owns pieces of both of those blocks, but they do not currently own the whole block. Also, the portion of the Caroline/Polk block that Skansa owns is teeny-tiny
  12. This is a big roadblock to your vision for SE Downtown: I went through on HCAD and highlighted all of the parcels owned by Golconda Ventures, which is a subsidiary of Opicoil, Taiwan's national oil and gas company. Apparently they've owned most of these plots since 1990 and have been content to just sit on them as parking lots for the past 33 years.
  13. Not sure if this is a new development, but I found this page while searching for information on the W Hotel: W Hotel - Partnership Tower (kirksey.com) Looks to be the same rendering as what we've seen in the past, though.
  14. Oh wow, they've finally made a lot of progress here! This structure had been standing in the same state for 2 years.
  15. I thought I saw the UMiami bus at the C Baldwin, but I could be wrong.
  16. Are the two Research Buildings going to be two separate buildings next to each other on Old Spanish Trail? Or are the two TDLR filings one in the same?
  17. Pardon my ignorance, but why would they get the abandonment of the alleyway approved, but then not include the northern portion in one big plat? I figured they'd want to get rid of the alleyway, so they can have one big L-shaped plat to build on
  18. The Montrose lights are currently controlled by the Houston First Corporation
  19. Where did these screenshots come from?
  20. His idea to turn the Astrodome into a casino is very interesting. Sort of like how Memphis turned the Pyramid into a giant Bass Pro Shop with a hotel and tons of restaurants. I doubt it'll ever happen, but that's a very interesting outside-the-box idea
  21. There are renderings available on Loopnet. Looks like some sort of office park or coworking space 3423 White Oak Dr, Houston, TX 77007 - Retail for Lease | LoopNet
  22. I think the league is interested in more expansion teams, but from what I understand Quebec City is very much next in line for a team. Perhaps Houston could get one too if they want to keep the conferences balanced
  23. Seems to me like this is a plat for a different location, on 3423 White Oak. Courtlandt doesn't run adjacent to the Hike and Bike trail here. I'm still very anti- the proposed building at 3215 White Oak if it involves people having to cross the H&B Trail constantly to park
