  1. It would look so much better if they went with a more industrial design on the top floors to match the garage, this looks like a garage wearing a fancy hat :( Still have hope it will come out better than the rendering :(
  2. How does the Heights manage to attract all these beautiful buildings? Almost every building that goes up in the Heights has unique architecture. Wish this would spread to other parts of Houston; the west side of town is in desperate need of anything other than a strip center.

  6. PRAYING this falls through because what the actual hell..... 38 parking spots for a tiny 2,500 sqft building?? Facing Lexington instead of Shepherd?? Building looks like it occupies 20% of the land...surrounded by parking... The drive thru sign indicates a Starbucks because thats their drive-thru sign...the last thing we need is another Starbucks (theres literally 2 other Starbucks walking distance from here) I hate to be negative, but this building would be a huge negative

  9. This project, Montrose Collective, and MKT all share a similar beautiful aesthetic. These are actual beautiful shopping centers that really changes the face of the area. Hope to see more of these type of projects spread around town; no more cookie cutter shopping centers for the love of god.
  10. Nothing is worse than the new drive thru daiquiri shops that legit sell you alcohol while you're behind a wheel. Its all fun and games until someone dies from a drunk driver......which is about every night.

  12. This has a pretty large presence driving south on i59. Its pretty exciting because the last time a building with this height was built on this stretch of 59 (Montrose-610) was a while ago.

  15. This warehouse/ previous body shop is going to be a new restaurant called Doves. It's southern inspired "vibe dinning." Its on a huge lot for just 1 restaurant.   16. If South Texas College of Law decides to sell their parking lot down the line, this would be an amazing location for a restaurant. Kind of like how the Grove in Discovery Green compliments the park.

Also, in terms of how to stadium looks and feels, A LOT needs to be done IMO

  19. I think the issue is that both Kamalan and the Dumpling place occupied an entire lot/ building. Their sales probably didn't justify rent, it would have made more economic sense for them to rent a smaller space in a larger building rather than occupying an entire building. I feel like the area is doing really well, the urban building directly in front with Spenga and the pharmacy seem to be doing well. Not to mention, the building down the street with Polish dentistry, Midtown dentist that occupies an old house, El Tiempo, a bunch of law firms in old houses, Soto Sushi, the new shopping center close to Bagby/ Elgin is already fully leased. My main point is i don't think a bakery can support a single use building in this portion of westheimer (we all know rent is pretty pricey here). IMO IMO IMO, I think this portion of Westheimer needs to go a bit more vertical (even just 2 stories) for rent/ urbanization/ walkability to make sense. As pretty/ nostalgic the old houses are, its neither helping with rent in the area nor is it helping with urbanism/ walkability.
  20. 😅 I've only stayed at Sheraton Grand in LA (which was nice) and thought they were all at least least similar in style/design......which is clearly not the case here. Also, I'm hopeful that maybe they'll eventually change the exterior...even just a bit? fingers crossed
  21. The Sheraton at 2400 West Loop South will be rebranded as The Chifley, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. It will host a new restaurant/ bar called "Rouse" that serves a fusion of barbecue, Mexican, and asian cuisine.   22. Whatever ends up happening here will 10000% be better than a suburban style CVS, super stoked it closed.
  23. Does this mean Cloud 10 is closing? This area is going to look completely different in the next few years with the redesigning of Shepherd and the change of businesses along it; it's much needed.
