  1. A slight correction regarding the group/groups purchasing the the parcels located at 2817 W Dallas St, 2701 W Dallas St, and 1011 La Rue: TKG Holdings, the real estate arm of the Kirby Group, isn't the only buyer of the West Dallas street property. Houston-based development company Oxberry Group appears to be involved with the sale too. An entity for AGH MM, LLC was filed in May. It is tied to Oxberry Group. The same month, W Dallas Interest, LLC (TKG Holdings) and AGH MM, LLC (Oxberry Group) established the entity Harlow District LLC.
  2. In regards to Katami - the possible dining or nightlife concept that might replace Vincent's restaurant at 2701 W Dallas St - an entity filing offers a few clues. TKG Holdings registered the entity Vincent HTX LLC in May, listing local restaurateur Yun Cheng as manager. Cheng is the proprietor of hospitality company the Azuma Group (I think he's still involved the company). Restaurants operating under the hospitality company's umbrella include Izakaya, Kata Robata, and Soma Sushi. Upon first notice of Katami, I thought this could be a Japanese dining concept. Cheng's involvement seems to hint Katami may indeed be a Japanese restaurant. Hopefully, details will follow in the coming months.
  3. Yep! Posted a confirmation of the concept coming last month:
  4. The Kirby Group recently dropped a hint of what may become of the parcels at 2817 W Dallas St, 2701 W Dallas St, and 1011 La Rue. About three days ago, the Kirby Group announced an upcoming concept on Instagram named Verde or Verde Garden. The post is geotagged in the Heights. However, the new project will likely replace Grappino's Di Nino at 11011 La Rue St, Suite C. Verde will center on Tex-Mex fare, cocktails, and beers, according to its logo and hashtags on Instagram. As for Vincent's, which is located at 2701 West Dallas, it could close too. A trade name filed with the state two months ago indicates the group may have plans for a concept possibly named Katami. I do not know if the Kirby Group will keep Nino's open or not at 2817 West Dallas. However, an entity filing seems to hint Nino's could live on for a while longer under the group's management. The Kirby Group operates several dining and bar establishments around Houston, which include: • Pitch 25 • Holman Draft Hall • Wooster's Garden • Worcester's Annex • Heights Bier Garten • Diversiòn • Degust Verde Garden's Instagram: https://instagram.com/verdegardenhtx
  5. In addition to Main Squeeze Juice Co. coming to Market at Houston Heights, a fast casual chicken restaurant appears to be on the way. The Crack Shack is based out of San Diego. Fried chicken (whole, nuggets, chicken sandwiches) is primarily served. The restaurant is shown on an updated site plan for Market at Houston Heights. It's situated next to Main Squeeze Juice Co. at 1541 N Shepherd Dr. At least one more outlet is planned for the Houston area at La Centerra at Cinco Ranch in Katy. https://www.crackshack.com/ https://mainstcp.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Market-at-Houston-Heights.pdf
  6. In May, Houston Chronicle reported Main Squeeze Juice Co. is leasing a unit at Market at Houston Heights. The Juice chain hopes to open in January 2023. "Main Squeeze Juice Co., a New Orleans-based juice and smoothie bar franchise, announced plans to open its first location within the city limits of Houston in the Heights neighborhood. The new location at 1541 N Shepherd Dr." https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/texas-inc/article/Retail-wrap-Half-Price-Books-Woof-Gang-Bakery-17148882.php This will become part of Phase II planned for Market at Houston Heights. It's the lot across from Flower Child restaurant.
  7. Some photos of Market at Houston Heights' completion since there aren't any in the thread. The photos are from Loopnet and the retail center's brochure located on Main Street Commercial Partners' website. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/1533-N-Shepherd-Dr-Houston-TX/21579280
  8. Posts about the Montrose location of FM Kitchen located in this retail development (address of restaurant is 907 Westheimer Rd, though it seems someone removed the Google Map listing altogether instead of marking it permanently closed).
  9. TKG Holdings is either in the process of buying or may have already purchased the parcels located at 2817 W Dallas St, 2701 W Dallas St, and 1011 La Rue. The company is from local hospitality group the Kirby Group. The purchase is not visible in the county records yet, but could be soon. The Loopnet listing for the lots shows the listing was last updated June 28, 2022 and is under contract again. It's possibly an indication of the Kirby Group's purchase. TKG Holdings filed an entity for W Dallas Interest, LLC in May. Once the sale is complete (if it's not completed already), county records will show W Dallas Interest as the new owner. Longtime Italian restaurants Nino's, Vincent's, and Grappino's Di Nino from the Mandola family occupy the lots.
  10. Regency Centers, the developers of Baybrook East, uploaded an updated site plan showing In-N-Out Burger in late June. However, the site plan was removed in early July and replaced with a previous one which doesn't include In-N-Out Burger. The updated site plan for Baybrook East was probably uploaded on accident. I was able to get a screenshot from a cache page of the site for proof. I also archived the link to the cache version of the site. Additionally, In-Out-Burger signed a memorandum of lease and agreement with Baybrook East last month. The records are available on the Harris County Clerk's website.
  11. Earlier this week, the entity PBJ Tacos Montrose, Inc. was filed to the Texas Comptroller's Taxable Entity database. So, while it does confirm rumors of the Taco Stand expanding to Montrose, it doesn't indicate where in Montrose. Still, I think all or at least some of the demoed lots could be for the Taco Stand.
  12. Not surprising that local news organizations and digital publications haven't covered this. If it's not in a press release, there won't be anything reported - at least that's what it seems. I've disclosed how I sent tips to reporters and freelancers coverings Houston's dining and nightlife scene. Weeks or months later the news MAY end up being published. And if it is, it's usually due to one of three things: - received a press release for the developer or business owner - it's become a hot topic in whichever neighborhood foodie group on Facebook - another local media outlet finally picked the news up, which means other publications piggyback off their news often doing little to zero research of their own to verify or gather additional details That being said, I appreciate you and everyone else for keeping up abreast on what's happening around town. Agreed to a certain extent, especially with local news stations - both their online and on-air content. Dining and real estate coverage aside, Houston Chronicle (paywall site/newspaper) does a pretty good job.
  13. Yep! This was shared a month ago. It's in the thread for Shepnett Square, the block or development consisting of FM Kitchen:
  14. I don't think I have seen this reported or shared elsewhere online, but California-based In-N-Out Burger recently leased a unit at Baybrook East (or Eastfield at Baybrook). The Webster location will be a lot closer for Bay Area residents and those living in on Houston's south, southeast, and east side. The restaurant's other locations in the Houston area are either on the west side or north side. Supposedly, rumors swirled in 2013 regarding In-N-Out Burger scouting locations in Friendswood and Webster near Baybrook Mall. Here is a blurb about in from a 2013 article from Galveston Daily News: "Meanwhile, rumors are heating up that In-N-Out Burger, which started as a small drive-in restaurant in 1948 and has mushroomed into a $1.1 billion empire, is searching for sites around Baybrook Mall." https://www.galvnews.com/blogs/laura_elders/article_7483f936-850a-11e2-b3a4-001a4bcf6878.html
  15. Earlier this year, several retail tenants were announced for this shopping center. The businesses will join H-E-B at Eastfield at Baybrook in the first quarter of 2023. A partial tenant roster reported by Community Impact: "Other tenants that are confirmed for the development include hot chicken restaurant Dave’s Hot Chicken, liquor store Twin Liquors, bistro-style restaurant Cafe Express, nail salon Nails of America and pizza restaurant Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse." https://communityimpact.com/houston/bay-area/development/2022/01/24/new-eastfield-at-baybrook-development-to-break-ground-in-2022-anchored-by-h-e-b/
  16. H-E-B opened in Baybrook East (or Eastfield at Baybrook) in late 2021. Photo of H-E-B El Dorado at 18611 Eastfield Dr in Webster; from H-E-B's website. Construction on the rest of the development will continue through 2022. Community Impact reported more details earlier this year (January): "The project is anchored by an H-E-B shopping center that opened on Dec. 29, 2021, according to Regency Centers, the real estate investment company behind the development. The H-E-B shopping center takes up 105,260 square feet, according to construction documents, with the other stores taking up 29,650 square feet." Completion timeline: "Construction on the rest of the center is expected to start in the second quarter of this year and be completed in the fourth quarter" https://communityimpact.com/houston/bay-area/development/2022/01/24/new-eastfield-at-baybrook-development-to-break-ground-in-2022-anchored-by-h-e-b/
  17. I looked for a thread for this property but wasn't unable to locate one. There is a thread about a parcel stretching from the Gulf Freeway to El Dorado; however, it does not seem to be the parcel where this development is located - but then again, maybe it is. If I overlooked the thread for this, please merge it into the existing one. Baybrook East (or the name may be Eastfield at Baybrook) is a new retail development in Webster. It's being built from the ground up and is anchored by H-E-B grocery store. Brochure https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/SEC-I-45-El-Dorado-Blvd-Webster-TX/22396309/
  18. Porta'Vino is opening a small space next door that will serve as a speakeasy or named Silo (7800 Washington Ave, Ste 900). Details about the bar were reported last week by What Now Houston: "We’re doing 72 seats, a speakeasy called Silo.” Silo is expected to open to the public in November 2022." "Floyd said the exterior of Silo is an old, tin building with no windows or signage. Once guests gain access with a key fob after paying an entry fee, they’ll find a different atmosphere." https://whatnowhou.com/speakeasy-planned-near-portavino-in-houston/
  19. The Finch is no longer being planned for 1212 Waugh Dr. A new dining concept from the group behind steakhouse Gatsby's is opening in the space: Gatsby's Prime Seafood.
  20. Instead of Sora Sushi, the name of the sushi restaurant coming soon to Stomping Grounds (1223 W 34th St, Ste C-500) is Himari. The owners of the restaurant are the same: the team behind Handies Douzo, Kokoro, and Aiko. Himari has an Instagram account for anyone who wants to follow for updates. https://instagram.com/himarihtx
  21. I haven't traveled downtown in a while, so I don't know when Lit Chicken closed their food stall at Finn Hall. I enjoyed their food and hope it resurfaces in the future as Low Tide has (I think a brick-and-mortar of Low Tide may open soon in either League City or Spring Branch). I also miss Oddball Eats. Hopefully, Finn Hall's operators can figure out how to draw more people in. It has potential. A Hawaiian-inspired bento box stall opened this year named Maui Bento. Has anyone tried anything from their menu?
  22. Recent posts about Finn Hall found in another thread. Finn Hall is the food hall at 712 Main St inside the Jones on Main.
  23. Thanks for the update! However, my comment was moreso a response to your question about what's possibly planned for parts or all of the lots at 1503 Westheimer-1513 Westheimer. I think the Taco Stand is planned for the lots since Bermudez and Pak have plans to open a Montrose outpost.
  24. The associated business name tied to White Oaks Eatery LLC is My Old House Cafe. I am still uncertain if this will be transformed into a neighborhood restaurant. However, the entity filing seems to indicate it could be a dining business. I suppose time will tell.
