  8. Supposedly, The Crack Shack is not moving forward in the second phase of Market at Houston Heights. Austin-based Via 313 is leasing the space at 1541 N Shepherd Dr, Suite 100. I haven't seen any mention of the pizzeria expanding into the Heights. There also aren't change of occupancy permits filed for the unit. Can anyone confirm this? I have not driven down North Shepherd in a while, so I don't know.
  9. A certificate of appropriateness application has been submitted for the building located on the 1111 E 11th St property. The developer is seeking approval to make a few changes. The application and other submitted documents aren't currently visible. This may be on the agenda for next month's Houston Archaeological & Historical Commission meeting. As mentioned in previous posts, the building is making room for two retail tenants. One tenant is boxing gym Rumble. The other is coffee shop chain Starbucks. Below is the project description provided: New Starbucks Coffee - remove existing RTU's and install new RTU in same location of old units. New outdoor patio and knee wall, patio furniture, new pergola system at outdoor seating, new planters and wall lighting scones. New storefront door. The document was recorded to the county clerk's database two weeks ago. According to the document, the parcel was sold to Kismat Fund LP. The entity is connected to Accession Capital LLC in Houston.

  13. Community Impact published an article yesterday with more details about Farmstand. The restaurant replaces Chatter's at 140 S Heights Blvd. Additionally, there is further information about the bar named Good God, Nadine's. It's replacing Darwin's Pub at 33 Waugh Dr. Both food and beverage concepts are from Verdegreens. Farmstand's estimated opening is September. https://communityimpact.com/houston/heights-river-oaks-montrose/dining/2024/03/26/verdegreens-urban-farm-to-open-restaurant-bar-concept-in-the-heights/
  14. @AS_ Community Impact is reporting Darwin's Pub is closing. Replacing the bar at 33 Waugh Dr will be Good God, Nadine's. It's a new bar from Verdegreens. https://communityimpact.com/houston/heights-river-oaks-montrose/dining/2024/03/26/verdegreens-urban-farm-to-open-restaurant-bar-concept-in-the-heights/
  15. Does anyone have insight regarding additional ground floor retail for Parc Binz II? The commercial development is located at 1802 Binz St. It's from developer Balcor Companies. I know Cloud 10 Creamery announced it is occupying one of the units (1802 Binz St, Suite 120). The scoop shop previously operated at Parc Binz I at 1801 Binz St. Is there any word on the other retail tenants? In addition to its ice cream concept, I think Balcor Hospitality may have another concept in store for Parc Binz II. Instagram recommended I follow a newly created account named Golden Biscuit Company The account has no followers and isn't following anyone. There also isn't any details in the bio section. After coming up empty with a Google search, I searched city and county records. A trade name for Golden Biscuit Company was filed recently by Balcor Hospitality. Golden Biscuit Company has a website, but nothing has been published. I'm assuming Golden Biscuit Company may open at 1802 Binz. I really don't know for certain. Based on the name, my guess is this could be some kind of a bakery, cafe, or breakfast/brunch concept. If anyone has further knowledge about this, feel free to share. http://goldenbiscuitcompany.com https://www.instagram.com/goldenbiscuitcompany
  16. The 3208 Austin St parcel is off the market. There is a recent special warranty deed with a vendor's lien pertaining to the 3208 Austin St parcel. The document was recorded to the county clerk's database yesterday. According to the document, Bread of Life, Inc. now owns the Midtown property. The property was acquired from Bagby 3208 Austin LLC, an entity tied to Lucky Chopra. Bread of Life is a non-profit organization associated with St. John's United Methodist Church. The church is located at 2019 Crawford St.
  17. @Urbannizer @Triton since nothing is going up here soon, perhaps this should be moved back to the Midtown forum?
  18. There is an interesting nugget in the plan review notes for 633 W 20th St. In the notes under the utility review, the reviewer makes a request for the addresses of each restaurant be included in the master site plan. It's possible there may be two concepts here: one for 633 W 20th St and the other for 637 W 20th St. I suppose more details will be revealed whenever an official announcement is released. Unfortunately, key details from uploaded construction documents are no longer included in the notes. This is a change that seems to have taken place in January. Those details provided in the notes were informative. I'm uncertain why that's no longer available.
  19. The pop-up coming to Junction HTX was announced last week. According to Junction's social media, it's hosting a Family Guy-themed pop-up, based on the animated tv show. The limited engagement launches in April. I assume Junction HTX hasn't seen an increase in traffic since its transformation into a bar. Perhaps the operator or management is banking on pop-ups to bring in people? Whatever the reason, I hope it works for them. I'm disappointed still over the loss of the market and food hall. Junction HTX is located on the Railway Heights campus at 8200 Washington Ave, Ste 100. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4vRP4pgmzj/
  20. Correction: I listed the wrong address for the tenants in the previous post. Below are the correct address and suite numbers for Midtown Collection's tenants: Starbucks - 2101 Smith St, Suite 101 Bank of America - 2101 Smith St, Suite 102 T-Mobile - 2101 Smith St, Suite 103 Phenix Salon Suites - 2101 Smith St, Floor 2 Midtown Collection is shopping center located at 2101 Smith St.
  21. 1013 Montrose Boulevard recently changed hands. Lamasar Capital (Lamasar Montrose LLC) acquired the property from the entity GZ Montrose/W. Dallas LLC, according to county records. A warranty deed was recorded to the county clerk's database earlier this week. As mentioned in above posts, Lamasar Capital is planning to develop condominium homes on the 1013 Montrose Blvd property. The name of the condo is not yet known.
  22. @hindesky There is an existing topic pertaining to the parcels for the proposed Midtown Smith Retail subdivision plat. In fact, I made a post about the plat earlier today. It's in the topic for Midtown Collection - 2101 Smith St: https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/topic/4033-midtown-collection-retail-center-at-2101-smith-st/?do=findComment&comment=699283 @Urbannizer @Triton please merge this topic with the existing one for 2101 Smith St: https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/topic/4033-midtown-collection-retail-center-at-2101-smith-st/
  23. There is a proposed Class 2 subdivision replat (C2R) for the site of Midtown Collection. The subdivision plat is named Midtown Smith Retail. It was submitted to the city's planning department yesterday. The plat consists of the 2101 Smith St and 2106 Louisiana St parcels. According to the information submitted, developers the plat's purpose is to create one unrestricted reserve "A". The reserve size is 0.72 acres. I'm not certain if this will be appear on the the city's next planning commission agenda or not.
  24. @Urbannizer @Triton please modify the title to the name @hindesky originally posted when he created this topic: Point Break. He didn't include an address because the bar hasn't disclosed it. Also, there are no permits or other filings for this. As usual, Highrise Tower edited the title and included the wrong information. He scanned this topic and saw one mention of 1400 W 20th St and ran with it not reading the comment in full...like he does so many other topics where he modifies the titles: The bar's not located there. Point Break hasn't released the address. Also, there are no permits or other records for the bar with its address. HT's unwarranted and unnecessary edits are a problem myself and several other members (including the OP) complain amongst each other.
  25. A map outlining the 2101 Smith St and 2106 Louisiana St parcels. The properties are owned by Williamsburg Enterprises.
