  1. @Urbannizer @Triton please modify the title to the name @hindesky originally posted when he created this topic: Point Break. He didn't include an address because the bar hasn't disclosed it. Also, there are no permits or other filings for this. As usual, Highrise Tower edited the title and included the wrong information. He scanned this topic and saw one mention of 1400 W 20th St and ran with it not reading the comment in full...like he does so many other topics where he modifies the titles: The bar's not located there. Point Break hasn't released the address. Also, there are no permits or other records for the bar with its address. HT's unwarranted and unnecessary edits are a problem myself and several other members (including the OP) complain amongst each other.
  2. A map outlining the 2101 Smith St and 2106 Louisiana St parcels. The properties are owned by Williamsburg Enterprises.
  3. Below is a site plan of Midtown Collection. It also lists current tenants. Midtown Collection is located at 2101 Smith St. Midtown Collection tenants: Starbucks - 1201 Smith St, Suite 101 Bank of America - 1201 Smith St, Suite 102 T-Mobile - 1201 Smith St, Suite 103 Phenix Salon Suites - 1201 Smith St, Floor 2 https://www.williamsburgent.com/midtown-collection https://www.williamsburgent.com/_files/ugd/e60560_6015a58d46e148949215dec19fbc23c5.pdf
  4. Photos of Midtown Collection. 5. Additional renderings of Holey Moley Golf Club in Houston. The renderings are included in Houston Business Journal's coverage of the forthcoming miniature golf bar. Holey Moley is set to open in April at 3839 Weslayan St, Ste 101. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2024/03/25/holey-moley-houston-to-open-greenway-plaza-area.html
  6. Ema opens to the public March 29. It's located at 5307 N Main St, Suite 100. The Mexican cafe is from the team behind former pop-up Tlahuac and its offshoot Papalo Mercado at Finn Hall. More on the space from an article Houston Chronicle published today: The simply designed space includes a communal table and tropical plants in a room filled with natural light. Some pieces of art speak to Mexico but gone are any traditional touches that shout “fiesta” with bright colors or pinatas. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/food-culture/restaurants-bars/article/ema-mexican-restaurant-houston-opening-19196748.php
  7. PHCG Investments recently sold its property at 6003 Richmond Ave. The entity is tied to Pappas Restaurants. According to a warranty deed recorded to the county clerk's database last week, K Partners LLC acquired the property. It appears the new landowners own a few gas stations and convenience stores. A subdivision replat for Glenhaven Plaza indicates a new commercial development is proposed for 6003 Richmond Avenue. Maybe a gas station and food mart will be built here.
  8. There is a website for Pok Pok Po. It consists of a landing page for now. Additionally, Pok Pok Po is on Instagram. Pok Pok Po is a new restaurant from local hospitality team Kahani Social Group. It's opening in The Mix @ Midtown at 3201 Louisiana St, Suite 108. Based on its website and social media, Pok Pok Po bills itself as a fried chicken parlor. I'm assuming this may be a Korean fried chicken eatery possibly with an Indian bent. However, I may be wrong. https://www.pokpokpo.com https://www.instagram.com/pokpokpochicken
  9. An architectural barriers project filing for 3201 Louisiana St, Suite 108 was registered yesterday with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The filing confirms speculation posted here a few months ago regarding local restaurant group Kahani Social Group opening a dining concept in The Mix @ Midtown. According to the filing, the restaurant's name is Pok Pok Po. I'm assuming this may be a Korean fried chicken eatery. Below are details from the filing: Estimated Start Date: June 3, 2024 Estimated Completion Date: September 30, 2024 Estimated Cost: $350,000 Type of Work: Renovation/alteration Scope of Work: Renovation of existing restaurant to new restaurant lease space build out Square Footage: 3,820 sf Design Firm: JT ARC Studio https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/TABS/Search/Print/TABS2024014584
  10. I have to agree with Georgia James' patio. The patio and its unveiling in the media were underwhelming for me. I expected more being that its the crown jewel of Underbelly Hospitality. I don't think Regent Square will fail. As long as there are people willing to live there and open a sustainable business there, it will survive. It is disappointing plans for the other phases of Regent Square were downgraded from initial designs. However, that can be a plus for Regent Square. It may not be Autry Park, but management can work towards drawing more people to Regent Square. I think it takes finding the right tenants, making some aesthetic adjustments, and developing programs for social events similar to CityCentre.
  11. It does appear to look that way, @AS_. I'm an optimist and am still holding out hope for Regent Square. There is a lot of potential for this development. While I never dined at Pastore, I had a feeling it wouldn't last long. Opening a new restaurant under the Underbelly umbrella is a hard sell without Chris Shepherd, I think. To the general public, the two go hand in hand. Without Shepherd, I think many are not interested in trying a new Underbelly Hospitality restaurant.

  13. @BlandGr the parcel address of the properties you're inquiring is 0 W Sam Houston Pkw N. They're both owned by an entity named Texan Land & Cattle II Ltd, which as you noted is tied to Henry J.N. Taub (possibly Henry J.N. Taub II.) The land is listed as agriculture production. It's possible the land could be developed into commercial, residential, or a mix of both in the future like most properties along Sam Houston Parkway.
  14. Based on the pin location on the map OP shared, the parcel you're referring to is not the one OP is inquiring about. The parcels are 0 W Sam Houston Pkw N. They're both owned by an entity named Texan Land & Cattle II Ltd.
  15. Renderings of Holey Moley / Holey Moley Golf Club's Houston location. The renderings in Houston Chronicle and CultureMap's reporting of the forthcoming miniature golf bar. Holey Moley is set to open in April at 3839 Weslayan St, Ste 101.
  16. Holey Moley / Holey Moley Golf Club is set to open in April at 3839 Weslayan St, Suite 101. The bar includes a miniature golf course and putt putt. According to a press release distributed to Houston Chronicle and CultureMap, Holey Moley "is decorated with '80s and '90s references, there will be three, nine-hole courses with themes such as Par for the Corpse, Birdie Hunter, and Mazed and Confused." Holey Moley replaces the long-vacant Harlow's / Harlow's Food & Fun pace. It's on the ground level, next to Regal Edwards Greenway Grand Palace movie theater. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/food-culture/restaurants-bars/article/holey-moley-mini-golf-houston-19366721.php
  17. Wood Lane Partners recently purchased a parcel at 2215 Ashland St. Does anyone know what may be in store there? It's possible the 2215 Ashland St property could be an investment property. However, it could be part of Hotel Daphne or a future Bunkhouse hotel or hospitality concept. As mentioned a few posts up, Wood Lane Partners acquired 313 W 20th St, 317 W 20th St, and 325 W 20th St in the last four months. There hasn't been any word as to plans for those properties. https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/topic/53391-2215-ashland-st/
  18. An Instagram account for Hotel Daphne was created last month. The user name is the same as a web domain purchased in 2022. It's possible the Instagram account is for Bunkhouse's Hotel Daphne at 347 W 20th St. https://www.hoteldaphnehtx.com https://www.instagram.com/hoteldaphnehtx
  19. A search on HCAD shows BLA Ventures, LLC also owns the adjacent parcels at 408 W 23rd St and 416 W 23rd St. Does anyone know if Wood Lane Partners will acquire those parcels too? My guess is Wood Lane Partners may have its eye on those properties and maybe others on that block. If the properties are scooped up, I wonder what could be in store? Maybe another Bunkhouse hotel or concept will go up here? Hotel Daphne is a few blocks away at 347 W 20th St. It may seem this property is too close for another hotel, but there are several Bunkhouse hotels in close proximity to each other in Austin. Also, Bunkhouse is possibly planning another Montrose area hotel near Hotel Saint Augustine at 4110 Loretto Dr (there is a topic about it here.) So, it's possible one could go up here.
  20. 2215 Ashland St recently changed hands. Wood Lane Partners, LTD acquired the property from BLA Ventures, LLC, according to county records. A warranty deed was recorded to the county clerk's database last week. Wood Lane Partners is the developer of nearby Hotel Daphne. Located at 347 W 20th St, the hotel is a joint partnership with Austin-based Bunkhouse Group.

  24. The 6,943-square-foot parcel at 2215 Ashland St is located in the Heights. It sits on approximately 0.16 acres. The property is on the corner of W 23rd St and Ashland St. On the property are two low-rise apartment buildings. One is located at 2215 Ashland St. The other is located at 2219 Ashland St. According to HCAD records, the buildings were constructed in 1950.
