  17. Below are additional conceptual drawings of what may become of the former Kim Hung Market in Houston's East Downtown. It's noted in the leasing brochure the images are schematic drawings. The building located at 1005 St Emanuel St could likely be an adaptive reuse project. Marketing materials list the site as EaDo Center. It's possible that could be the name of whatever commercial development is possibly planned for this property. Some of the businesses shown in the conceptual renderings could be depicted for marketing purposes. It's not necessarily what may open here. To that point, here are the businesses depicted in the renderings: Manpuku (a Yakiniku / Japanese BBQ restaurant) Wabi House (a Japanese restaurant centered on "ramen and izakaya-style Japanese dishes) Hide / Hide Bar (restaurant and bar) The Salty / The Salty Donut (an artisanal donut shop) Toasted / Toasted Coffee + Kitchen (an all-day cafe and bar) River Pig Saloon (bar & grill) Shoyo (a Japanese restaurant centered on sushi omakase)

  20. Thanks @Urbannizer. Perhaps there's a need to modify title for this topic? Based on the leasing materials, it appears more than a club is planned for this property.
  21. I was about to post this! While I'm excited marketing materials have been updated, that's as far as my excitement goes for now. The owner has teased us for years with proposed renderings. Nothing has happened. I realize there are lots of things that affect development plans, bur still.
  22. Months after Ola's closure comes another closure: High Fashion Fabrics at 3101 Louisiana St. Here's the article published today announcing the closure. The post was shared in another topic: As previously noted, the may be an adaptive reuse retail development. The development includes the following properties: 3101 Louisiana St 3100 Travis St 3010 Milam St Oxberry Group is the developer of this project. However, The Kirby Group may have joined forced with Oxberry Group. Kirby Group is listed in the video description for the Midtown development. The two developers also partnered for the Montrose area mixed-use development Harlow District.
  23. @hindesky wrong building and topic. The article pertains to High Fashion Fabrics at 3101 Louisiana St. This topic is for 3100 Travis St where High Fashion Home is located. Those are two different businesses (though same company) on two properties. Granted, both properties are slated for the proposed multi-block development from Oxberry Group and The Kirby Group. Here is the topic for the building at 3101 Louisiana St mentioned in the article: https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/topic/27553-midtown-retail-development/ Looks like the topic for High Fashion Home was merged with the topic for 3100 Travis AFTER I posted this. Thanks @Highrise Tower once again for merging topics WITHOUT informing members you've merged topics together (you know, like how you take it upon yourself to unnecessarily change everyone's titles seconds after they created a topic.) At least the other moderators notifies the forum when a major change like that has been made. It would be nice if you did the same. @Urbannizer @Triton.
  24. Below is more on Agnes and Sherman from the restaurant's LinkedIn page. Agnes and Sherman is coming later this year to 250 W 19th St, Ste A. It's taking over Alice Blue's former digs. The restaurant bills itself as a "modern Asian American diner." From the restaurant's LinkedIn page: Agnes and Sherman is a Modern Asian American Diner located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Our mission is to deliver a nostalgic, whimsical, and inclusive dining experience through the lens of Asian American food; and by doing so, expand the definition of American culture. Agnes and Sherman is the culmination of Chef Nick Wong’s fifteen years in the restaurant industry – from fine to casual dining – showcasing his take on flavor, technique, and creativity, to serve dishes that are truly accessible and joyful. Both Asian American food and diner culture are uniquely American. Agnes and Sherman aims to weave the two together to create an experience rooted in nostalgia and presented in a whimsical, genre-defying format. Beyond the food, Agnes and Sherman will lead by example the principles of sustainable longevity. We embrace our role as a part of an ecosystem and when we thrive, our community does too. Ultimately, Agnes and Sherman will be best known as the city’s favorite neighborhood spot that’s expanding the meaning of Americana, telling stories through standout dishes and incorporating socially responsible business practices as a way to promote equality and equity in our society. https://www.linkedin.com/company/agnes-and-sherman

Agnes and Sherman will be a "modern Asian American diner," according to a February announcement on one of the co-owner's Linkedin page. The restaurant comes from chef Nick Wong and Lisa Lee.
