  1. Oh, I totally get it, I'm just saying that it doesn't need to be modified. Overtime it will continue developing like it is and those that want to visit it, an, but there is no point in going out of its way to develop it into something it isn't.
  2. People don't NEED a reason to go to the east end any more than people NEED a reason to visit West U. The area will develop much differently than midtown and a different pace. Slower or faster I honestly don't know. If anything, mom and pop places as well as more service oriented business will go up. The only people OUTSIDE of the east end that will go there might be the kids from UH, TSU, people visiting friends and family, or people going to work at the various small business and industrial areas.
  3. Then by all means, feel free to dive after the oysters and have at them. I'll buy half a dozen please.
  4. Truly. I'm a "Don't feed the animals" when it comes to homeless people, but even *I* know that there are differences on how and why people become homeless. Perhaps you should elaborate which "homeless" people deserve to be homeless?
  5. BRT would be a good solution for lines to intersect to current and future lines. Parts of kirby, Braeswood, Macgregor, Westhiemer, memorial, and Allen Parkway would be good options for it. The lines can be built out in relatively small sections and convertered as needed. Once the ridership numbers and density increases, the funding for a proper system would be easier to get for elevated, or perhaps a subway system.
  6. Well, I was hoping to vote by now, and considering the debates weren't that enlightening, I still have no clue to vote for. Of course, I already decided against Annise.
  7. Well, I'm just hoping that developers would make something for working families that don't mind living in downtown or "inside the loop". Particularly those that are on the verge of being Empty Nesters.
  8. Ed: I REALLY miss the "-" button. Like in every profession, you're going to find good people, bad people, highly skilled, and those you wondered why they got hired in the first place; but you're not going to be able to tell that in an encounter that only lasts a few minutes. When I get pulled over, I have my ID and insurance ready, greet the officer with a smile, hand him the info, answer questions, accept my ticket, wish the officer a good and safe day and move on with my life. Its not really that hard.
  9. Well, I am sure plenty of people will die on that day, but it will have nothing to do with the end or the world. I plan on sitting on my front porch and watch the rest of the world go into a panic and realize the world did NOT end and explain some of the poor choices they had made in thr days prior. Hell, I might get a new kitten.
  10. Its quite possible that it could have that streets address, but its hard to say for sure. The fact that its involved in the erection of some sort of structure behind there would be a bit funny. Happy?
  11. Just happened to be driving by and I spotted a huge crane behind (I think) the Men's Club or the Marriott Garden Inn. Bechtel Tower. I couldn't quite tell what it was doing there aside from just quietly sitting there.
  12. They kept it. Lousy business sense, I think.
  13. The Skyline was shut down and has been turned into some sort of conference room. VERY disappointed.
  14. Does this mean we can shut down this thread before a rightie and leftie civil war breaks out? If it comes to war, I will be with other (I)'s drinking a beer watching y'alls blood pressure increase.
  15. Of course, now I'm curious as to what would have made you do 96 in a minivan in kansas of all places. I have visions of you in a tricked out VW trailing smoke for some reason.
  16. Well, I hope it didn't cause any damage, that would definitely be a pane to fix.
  17. It could be possible that the art was changed with a different printing run.
  18. Surprising that you're calling me a lib considering I'm a conservative. Nice leap to the racial thing that limbaugh said considering that wasn't part of the conversation, nor did I even look it up on wiki quotes. It wasn't I "heard" its what was REPORTED on a news station. I can't cite it worth a damn and admit to that, but if you can prove that its a fake quote, then by all means.
  19. Sorry, but I heard it from one of the local news channels a number of years ago, so if you call it fake, go ahead. Burn in hell, Delay.
  20. Impressive! I wonder how long it will take for the for system to pay for itself.
  21. See, now you're bordering on something called a "cult of personality" where you are willing to blindly follow a leader's point of view without questioning and THAT is a dangerous thing onto itself. I don't want a leader that the world loves, I want a leader everyone RESPECTS. From the various news sources around the world, not every leader thinks highly of our president. I don't like Foxnews delivers its news, but the substance behind it should be considered.
  22. It will eventually get there, and as it has been discussed on other threads, there has to be a way to go FROM downtown. Not the entire population of SL works exclusively at TMC or DT. Tom Delay was willing to fund light rail if it served SL (his district), but when metro declined and showed him his plans, he retaliated. If he would have helped the city properly, you might have gotten a better way into the city in only a couple of years.
  23. Well, considering they already have a person of interest, odds its a domestic. Once again, someone who knew thier killer.
  24. It could be that they are scared there might be a national shortage of beer and hot wings.
  25. Hannity got on my nerves by claiming HE is always right. Listened to him for all of 2 months, then went to savage. I always hoped he'd have an on-air aneurysm
