  1. Hickory Hollow, is another good Greasy Spoon. I made the mistake of ordering a Kelley Burger, over at Kelley's on I-45. I am 6'4" 320lbs, and I couldn't finish the damn thing. I never get a togo box, although I should most times. I was very impressed. I usually get the chicken fried steak, yes, I live in Katy, but my family and I make special trips just to go eat there. To quote Hakeem Olajuwon, "It's Un-beat-able !"
  2. Mama's Cafe on Westhiemer is a perfect greasy spoon. Lots of plate clanging and coffee pouring goin on around there on Sat. and Sun. mornings. Good for late night on Thurs.
  3. We are too zombiefied with our Budweiser and Miller Lite. Bring back the Frog Ads dammit. I need to be motivated to buy The King Of Beers. You know what Miller Lite and having sex on the beach, have in common ? They are both F*#king near water !
  4. Ummmmm, that's Quiet Riot that sings that song Cheif. I think "Cursed Diamond" by The Black Crowes
  5. We get number 1 pick next year, and choose another quarterback, free up some salary with Carr, but I don't know that anyone else wants to afford him.
  6. Actually, I heard Mr.Olsteen say that the $80 million debt it took to get Compaq, was actually just paid off. I believe Lakewood owns that piece of property.
  7. One of my favorite teenage memories, is going to the Windsor , to see "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" I was 16 and a huge John Hughes fan, and to able to enjoy one of my alltime favorite movies at that theater, is just fantastic. I really believe the comfy chairs made the movie that much better for me.
  8. That is a little long for a theme song, 12 minute operattas just don't quite cut it. "WHO DO YOU LOVE ?" George Thurogood
  9. Hmmmm, hadn't thought of that, maybe that is something my friend should look into, her daughter is a good kid, and there is alot of ghetto type mentality running around that school.
  10. A good friend of mine here at work is pulling her child out of Mayde Creek, her girl is a freshman, she has 2 others behind her, so they are selling their house also, and finding a house to allow the girls to go to either Katy High, or Seven Meadows.
  11. Really, the only thing you have to worry about in Katy schools, are the Coaches stalking your 16yr. old daughter at 6:00am. Although, it happened in Cinco Ranch, and Cinco really doesn't consider themselves part of Katy. If you haven't heard about this story, well, it happen just yesterday, so if you need more details. Lily, you forgot about the dominant presence of Crystal Meth, all over Taylor High.
  12. I remember seeing Jaws, Dirty Harry, That Darn Cat, Posiedon Adventure, King Kong, and a slew of others at The Brunson growing up, then in about 1980 or so, my Dad and i discovered The Windsor Theater at 610 and Richmond. We would drive the 45 minutes or so form Baytown just to enjoy those huge, comfy, plush Blue Velvet seats. It was the definately the best way to see a movie.
  13. duh duh.....duh duh duh.....another one bites the dust. duh duh.....duh duh duh.....another one bites the dust.
  14. You better layoff LaStrada then brother, still like you remember it on Sunday.
  15. i drove by just the other day, and there was black soot all over the outside of the windows. Maybe i was seeing things, I'm pretty sure I saw char.
  16. Burnt down, What a shame. Totally freaked me out the first time I saw the chick swinging. I was about 8yrs. old ,I was concentrating on my hamburger, and all the sudden my Dad goes look. I turn around and thought someone had thrown her across the room or something. Nearly fell out of chair.
  17. It's not in this picture, but they used to have a Giant Shrimp sculture with a cowboy outfit on, brandishing sixguns like he is ready for a gunfight, and a Giant Blue crab, on the other end of the building, with a sign underneath it that said "actual size".
  18. Hmmmmmmm, so it really did take 5 games for us to beat the Braves. On with the show, 'Stros are for real people, I just hope they keep focused.
  19. You mean to tell me it's not , a nother ? See, being a smart@$$ never pays off around here. Karma is a MOTHER ! Me and my FAT FINGERS ! .........and to top it off, I GET NUMBER 500 !!!! WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO !
  20. Well, maybe they rehash everything and see if they can make just the economics work, instead of the econonomics. :DI think everyone makes a valid point about a nother theater, I'm sure it would be a contrast to the Angelika, maybe play some Rocky Horror, at the new one. Or Angelika could have it, that would be fun for the late night artsy fartsy crowd.
  21. Do you remember the short lived Galaxy restaurant on Richmond. Had a SCI-FI theme. Neat little place.
  22. United was bought by Service Merchandise. Good stores.
  23. You can go right over to Sam's Boat on richmond. Fresh Oysters and they shuck 'em right there in front of you. When they are in season.
  24. Bennett left the group around 1984 or so. Elliot, was accidentally killed by his own shotgun while cleaning it, (NO,it was NOT a suicide!). Clark Walter is still here in Houston. They really have some good albums. If you could find one in an old record shop, go ahead and spend the $.99 cents and get it.
