I drove by today, and they have made a dent, but it will clearly be a few months before that land is even close to being "cleared". I would say 1/6 of it is "cleared".

The slide he is referring to was first a "Superslide" where you used potatoe sacks, then the "Ski Mountain" might have been a couple of other things after that also, but eventually became an Ampitheater, then a Houston Garden center, then eventually became freeway space which it is now. Gosh.............I almost got foot in mouth disease a minute ago ! Glad I re-read those posts. I grew up less than a 1/2 mile from Exxon in Baytown, my father was CFO and CEO of Flexitallic Gasket ,in Deer Park, for 15 years or so. He died at 55 from heart disease, not related to any plant emissions and I myself have yet to have any symptoms, but I know I sure wouldn't want any. I think you are missing the point, Rodeo is about being a COWBOY, not a PUNKASS GANGSTA', or Drinking Wine listening to James Taylor albums. How many HIP HOP stars have you seen roping cattle on a trail ride ? How many people in TUXEDOS go to the opera then come home and feed the hogs by the stables ? Do you think that if HLS&R put more "diverse" acts like Yanni, that people that actually listen to him are gonna sell out the Stadium. HLS&R knows their clientel, they will book acts accordingly, they have only been doing it for what 80 something years now. I don't think they need any help from Paul Wall or Chaka Khan to bolster sales. I will go ahead and say it, HLS&R doesn;t want the likes of Paul Wall or LIl' Jon or 36 Mafia as a performer. WHY ? The HLS&R commitee is dedicated to getting the best acts available, and to make it enjoyable for all. I see nothing wrong with the lineup. The commitee has limited funds for performers and they get the best acts available with the funds available.

Tea is a different animal. I am exaggerating the cost a little on the average consumer. It is only about $2 to $3 a cup, but some people drink 2 a day. It is the ones who have to have a Large mocha frappacino with half soy half decaf latte with nutmeg and whipped cream every friggin day or they can't function, that make me want to puke. If I'm drinking tea, it better be Lipton or Luzianne, or someone is gonna lose a kidney.
