  1. I am going to try and dig up an old family picture of my Grandparents standing outside the front door of Graceland with another couple, before it was "Elvis's Graceland". My Grandparents were friends with the previous owners Dr. Thomas Moore and his wife Ruth and the picture is of the four of them. From what I can remember, my Grandfather and Dr. Moore served together as surgeons in the Army Medical Corp. The photo is from the late 40's or early 50's, I sure hope I can find it.
  2. I think I am gonna have to tell HR about your "offensive" avatar.
  3. All I have to say, is that if you desire to be called No.1 or No.2, this means that you can line up against ANYBODY and the "matchup" ain't gonna matter, you will dominate.
  4. Quit being sooooo bitter . There is always next year for your Ags, I am rooting for you girls... I mean guys. I think A&M should first focus on beating their in-state rivals before worrying about making it to a bowl game. Remember, baby steps. Besides, you know I'm a Southern Miss. fan, who just happen to win the N.O. Bowl this year.
  5. Colt's last drive to win in the 4th quarter was definately "Heisman Worthy". I told you guys OSU would give Texas all they could handle though. Very good bowl game. I hate Woody Hayes and his followers, I couldn't be happier that OSU lost the way they did.
  6. sounds about par for the course. A few teams have been real letdowns.
  7. That is alot. I guess I really like Austin's way now. They lump the gas, water, and electric together. I own both my cars, so no payments there. Got a mortgage, got insurance, and just one, yes ONE credit card. Let's see. City of Austin: Water, Gas, Electric Mortgage Insurance Credit Card Time Warner: Internet, Cable, Phone That ain't so bad, but I don't want to remember that many passwords either. I guess I'll just keep going to HEB to pay most of it in one spot. Mortgage I pay online and Insurance over the phone. Credit card is paid over the phone as well.
  8. ....at least one HAIFer got his wish granted. fate, was it everything you hoped it would be ?
  9. Oh sure, NOW you picked Ole Miss. No, I seem to recall you and I were the only ones backin' them up earlier in this thread.
  10. Maui Airport is nice, open air in alot of places, but seems very clean also. Least favorite is Atlanta, you got to walk a mile for a connecting flight.
  11. No more sugary or diet drinks, no more B.S. energy drinks. Riding the scooter to work more. Getting rid of the Cutlass. Buying groceries all at once instead of making a trip every other day. No more going out to eat or fast food trips. Putting more money into my 401k. I may change to AT&T internet and cable from Time Warner.
  12. I trust my boy Noe Martinez who owns a Liberty Tax franchise in Katy. THe guy knows his stuff, and I always come out ok.
  13. Bottomline, your pick choked, just like my 'Bama pick choked last night. I knew Ole Miss could handle that po dunk Tech team though.
  14. So, after Tech got their arses handed to them. Who wants to talk smack about Ole Miss now ?
  15. ig2ba, I am talking about being completely stopped at the intersection for 2 to 3 seconds MINIMUM, not the amount of time you have applied your brakes for. Try to keep up. Thanks for verifying that for everyone.
  16. Sure, but most take the ornaments off the tree everytime before hauling it to the recycling center. I could see the comparison if I burned my tree ,with all the fixin's, in effigy every year and was forced to buy new ornaments. Sandcastle, I totally agree. Although I don't recall of any published historical records of Pollock or Warhol building sandcastles after they hit the big time.
  17. Right, I wonder how many minutes that will take for it to be destroyed ? BTW, the Arsonis.....I mean Artists couldn't wait 'til midnight, and they lit that Roman Candle at 10:30pm. I think there will be a couple of lawsuits involved, because apparently the Artists didn't take the wind factor into account and the burning embers were falling onto the crowd and singed a few partygoers.
  18. Seeing as how you are to come to a complete stop ? Umm, yeah, that is kinda important here. Htown, you still have to come to a complete stop and check before making that left, correct ?
  19. Well, I think that is the whole point of this clockwork. A "beautiful disaster" if you will. They are letting everyone write resolutions on it, and it will all be destroyed just minutes after midnight, so perhaps it is an attempt at art imitating life ?
  20. At what speed CB06 ? I will even be conservative and say traveling 10mph up to the light. Ok, go ahead and count one-one thousand. Does that really seem like enough time for your ton and a half , eco-friendly, deathmachine to settle ? Now try counting the same way, but to three this time. Which makes more sense, and which one do you think the cop at the corner is looking for ?
  21. From what they are saying, it will be blown up with fireworks shooting out of it and whatever is left will be left to burn.
  22. It is taught in driving school. It is how the police judge your performance at stop signs also. What do you think the rule is, tap your brakes and go ? That's fine, I guess you can tell it to the judge also. Oh wait, the Judge in the girlfriend's case seems to also think that's the law. Hmmm, go figure ? kylejack, I am more inclined to NOT waste the court's and taxpayer's time, when I know I am caught redhanded on tape... now, if I was ignorant of the law, then perhaps I can see your point. Otherwise, I'll go pay the ticket. This is from trafficschoolonline.com "Right On Red Texas is a right on red state. For a lot of out of state drivers this can be very disconcerting. Right on red means that unless it is otherwise posted, it is legal to make a right turn at a red light after coming to a complete stop and verifying that lane of travel you are turning into is clear. However, be aware that the signs posting no right on red are usually rectangular and hung near the traffic light itself. Failure to obey can lead to a stiff fine and a traffic ticket."
  23. You fought when you had no cause to. You should have known your girlfriend was guilty before you entered the courtroom, if you had read your driver's handbook back when you were 15. Doing a "rolling right on red" IS running a red light, just like doing a "California Roll" through a stop sign, IS running a stop sign. Yielding is not how making a right on red is properly executed. You don't yield, you MUST make a COMPLETE stop for 2 to 3 seconds MINIMUM before proceeding. Your girl ran a redlight, she deserved the ticket. Sorry for the reality check.
  24. A bunch of local Austin artist are camping out at Auditorium Shores to build this wonderful working clock tower, called The Resolution Clock. They will ceremoniously destroy it at the stroke of Midnight for New Year's Eve along wiht a brilliant fireworks display. The family and I went today to take photos and write our resolutions on the clock. Should be a pretty nice view for those downtown.
  25. You need to head a little more east if you want to see Niche.
