I hope you are right.. the trendy stained wood thing will look dated almost immediately unless they do it right. seems to be some brick too.. happy this isn't going to just decay.

most wouldn’t survive being removed and the labor cost to get them out would be high. It’s a nice idea though... some things would have a better chance at surviving than others. These materials are best grounded up and used as mulch.- 994 replies

I really wish they would extend dart to this project. Id even be happy if they could connect Dart to White to better the grid. I find the neighborhood benefits from the grid and there will be a lot of pedestrians and dog walkers that wont want to use Edwards since it is becoming a major street. I also wonder about access to the leftover land that doesn't seem to be accessible without some additional street work.- 55 replies

I hope you are right. But I don't think it will be much different... The base will be the same either way and the tower will likely need to jive in glass color and style.

This would definitely be an improvement, though not very Heights-like. Gives me an uptown Dallas vibe for some reason. I am curious if the Heights would be better off diversifying architectural styles or if it should try to strictly adhere to an older / more mature architectural style. I think this building would be fine and activate a bit more street life starting down at Yale. It would be nice to see a pedestrian friendly mini 'downtown' between Yale and Shepard.

I wonder what would happen to the retail at the bottom of this if the tower does start. My hope is they guise the garage better than it is now... Its rough looking, especially in such a desired area.

That is silly, it is almost fully leased. Only space open is top floor... which will likely be some sort of service retail. huge apartment nearby means ton of foot traffic. Will be fine.
