  1. East End Management District has a proposed street car connecting this neighborhood with Eado and Navigation. Would be a huge game changer.
  2. New brochure that shows cool looking model shot of the bayou and buildings http://eastriverhtx.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/180709-EastRiver_brochure_FINAL2.pdf
  3. So have we established a metric for what amount of rainfall equals a flooded park and trails? How often do these occur? What is our expense to repair these damages? At this rate, all of the East End project money will be spent providing maintenance to the twice a year flooded west side.
  4. Midway meeting with locals in 5th ward to discuss the East River property this past week at The New Potato.
  5. Quit taking advantage of drunks Tumbleweed! lol Its interesting too see the land that Midways owns and how that will be developed vs the land that Cathexsis owns and how that is developing.
  6. The Bar across the street (The New Potato) loves this lot and maintains a very good relationship with Midway. The owner is a guy named Paul and they built the bar with the plan to establish an early footprint in this area. Best hidden bar in town!
  7. There is a Notice of Special Exception Request on the property. "To allow local streets to have reduced right of way width and To allow reduced block Lengths along Major Thoroughfares."
  8. Why get light rail when you can have a Gondola to Downtown? Hopefully plans are released soon. They have been suspiciously quiet lately. If you ever need an update on what is going on, you just need to go to The New Potato across the street from the site. The owner Paul can fill you in.
  9. Looking good but i hope they keep the video boards on the field. Something like LiveBarn would be great to auto follow the play.
  10. Also, this might have more legs considering that it is located withing the TIRZ 10 zoning.
  11. This would be amazing but there are really only 2 places for a 200 acre development like this in Houston. East River or this place.
  12. So apparently they purchased the land from McCord Development and they will be building a distribution center. This kind of is a let down considering it may only bring ~200 full time jobs to the area. But its still a big name in a growing area.
  13. Lucky's is the trailer trash next door. Under the right lighting and with enough drinks it looks good. But if you step in there sober and in daylight, its got an aura of worn down sketchiness about it. Same thing with home plate across from minute maid. Chicken wire in a bathroom is typically a red flag for me.
  14. I'm sure it is tied in with the testing of supersonic speeds over Galveston.
  15. I really like Chapman and Kirby. I hope it finds the crowd that they need to be successful. I love going there for a drink and some food before the games.
  16. I worry about Houston's ability to Innovate. We are very good with production and profit making enterprises. Taking ideas from other locations and making them profitable. People will point to O&G innovation but a lot of that is driven from Licensors located in Chicago, Germany, Italy and other overseas locations. I dont know enough about medical to say if this is really the location for innovation or if there are other places in the country that do more. We should never stop encouraging innovation but I dont think a high priced innovation coordinator is the answer. The more natural progression that is happening on the East End seems like the better option.
  17. This is great that there are so many ventures going on in this area. It will hopefully turn into something special for visitors and locals.
  18. Well, its a nice looking office building, I would hate to block the public's view from the freeway. The apartments will still look nice. Hopefully all this expedites the buildout of redemption square. On another note, with the quick buildout of this and the the Class A apartments at Fall Creek, me thinks that there may be more future potential growth in this area.
  19. Im suprised that they would block the view of this office building to build these apartments.
  20. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2018/03/13/houston-apartment-developer-buys-land-near.html About 322 Class A Apartments in Fall Creek off Bellow Falls and Beltway 8. There is a lot of potential with this large area of land. Hopefully they didnt give it all away.
