  1. Millions are being poured into TIRZ 18 with no economic output. They leveraged city funding with a plan to develop the lower portion of "The Bottom" yet conveniently ran out of money less that 40% of the way complete. Now they are forcing the owners of KBR lot to join their TIRZ but its becoming a major stink because they want to be separate.
  2. Riding my bike down buffalo bayou today and I ran across Buffalo Bayou Partnership working on the trails on the South side of the Bayou East of Jensen. They were clearing trees and preping for more bike trails. Also talking with them they have the contract to finish the trail on the North side and have access to KBR lots property. Other cool stuff going on is the boat racing down there.
  3. It will be a few years. RIght now that area is looking to build about 600+ homes in the immediate vicentity of KBR lot over the next 3 years. Once that happens as well as continued East End expansion will cause commercial developmetn to become necessary and KBR will pounce. Thats the reason they didnt want the botanical garden on that site. Its worth way too much. The only issue with that area is 5th ward politics causing so many problems for the owner. Look no further for corrupt politicians that 5th Ward CRC and the TIRZ 18.
  4. Make sure to check out the bottom of the 5th ward if your price point is 190 to 250k. Good quality townhomes in the area and quick access to freeways and bayous.
  5. Using my powers of Google, I just happened to search out the adress for cathexis and found another company sharing the same suite (Catsyn LLC). They seem to be related based on the people that work at both
  6. Half the property is divided on hcad right now towards Jensen. Its a great property with so much potential. Hate to see it held or mis-managed into a crummy shopping center. I'm afraid that the market for 300k+ townhomes are being eaten up quickly all over town. If Hines builds its other community out on the west side near 610 and i-10, it will be hard to fill these. Although a great skyline view and immediate bayou access are hard to pass up
  7. From the 5th ward area: - KBR lot is changing hands 1st quarter 2014 - Intown 36 acre MDI lot with about 300 to 400 homes (18 months away hopefully) - Urban Living bought up most of the best real estate in the area and has developer signs listed - Large park where the infamous Kelly Courts used to be. Should be a great area to bring kids in the future if they keep the plans they proposed. - The balcony on top of my house (Crossing my fingers!!!)
  8. Forgot the D http://www.greatereastend.com/ GEEMD is actually in control of the KBR lot but is working with 5th ward to find the best way to develop it
  9. Looks like a lot has been going on the past few months in 5th ward and wanted to keep you all involved. Currently there are discussions going on between 5th ward and GEEM about the areas redevlopment. - Contractors have come in to showcase their sites to the community and expectaions are high for the kbr lot and Frank Liu's Mdi site. Can't show the pic of the development but its dense walkable and mixed income. (about 300-400 homes) - Urban living is buying large bits of property in the area with Unique developer and trimeric signs already posted. - Urban lofts is starting constriction of their new townhomes - GEEM and 5th ward are in the talks with HEB and CVS about starting stores near the area (rumor right now) - Kbr lot officially changes hands at the end of this year to its developer.
