  1. I'm sure it is tied in with the testing of supersonic speeds over Galveston.
  2. I really like Chapman and Kirby. I hope it finds the crowd that they need to be successful. I love going there for a drink and some food before the games.
  3. I worry about Houston's ability to Innovate. We are very good with production and profit making enterprises. Taking ideas from other locations and making them profitable. People will point to O&G innovation but a lot of that is driven from Licensors located in Chicago, Germany, Italy and other overseas locations. I dont know enough about medical to say if this is really the location for innovation or if there are other places in the country that do more. We should never stop encouraging innovation but I dont think a high priced innovation coordinator is the answer. The more natural progression that is happening on the East End seems like the better option.
  4. This is great that there are so many ventures going on in this area. It will hopefully turn into something special for visitors and locals.
  5. Well, its a nice looking office building, I would hate to block the public's view from the freeway. The apartments will still look nice. Hopefully all this expedites the buildout of redemption square. On another note, with the quick buildout of this and the the Class A apartments at Fall Creek, me thinks that there may be more future potential growth in this area.
  6. Im suprised that they would block the view of this office building to build these apartments.
  7. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2018/03/13/houston-apartment-developer-buys-land-near.html About 322 Class A Apartments in Fall Creek off Bellow Falls and Beltway 8. There is a lot of potential with this large area of land. Hopefully they didnt give it all away.
  8. At this point, developers are just placing their variance requests and plans for development to help bolster their payout. The real challenge will be to see how these companies survive with 10 years of construction out their front door.
  9. https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/energy-environment/2018/01/17/262230/housing-development-at-houston-superfund-site-moving-forward/ Looks like its moving forward.
  10. I think the City Center would be for residents of Lake Houston and Fall Creek. But I agree, the area is very easy to get to on counterflow. I lived on the east end and the straight shot up 59 for my roommate and I was a breeze. To be honest, I rarely see traffic going to down town before 7:30am either.
  11. https://www.thestranger.com/slog/2018/01/12/25708360/talking-with-the-houston-developer-who-tried-to-woo-amazon-with-a-sky-message Wow, this reporter basically said she couldn't think of a question so she asked who McCord voted for in the last election. What a bimbo.
  12. https://mobile.twitter.com/lindsaycohen/status/951892042644246528?ref_src=twcamp^share|twsrc^ios|twgr^other Generation Park going hard into the paint
  13. There is a new Mega Church off 59 North and Beltway 8. Too much competition for money grabbing snake charmers.
  14. It seems like this development is waiting on something else to happen before committing to further development (maybe oil prices). They seem like they are very close to pulling the trigger on a lot of nice things in the near future.
  15. Tout Suite will be gone, but I bet they get a sweet deal from the city on another location in the east end. Maybe somewhere along the green loop
  16. Spoke to the Owner of Ly's Liquor a week or 2 ago and they will have a spot at this place. Which, if you haven't been is a great bourbon and whiskey liquor store.
  17. Wow @CrockpotandGravel good find. How did you find out that they were tied? Also, something that I noticed is that the park they have identified on the mid-western portion along the Bayou is about the only portion of the site that falls within the 500-year flood plain. I think they will lower this to the bayou as a boat dock or the open patch to the north could be used for the infamous swimming hole.
  18. Maybe they are waiting to see what happens with the Amazon Bid. Its a long shot but it would be a smart temporary hold.
  19. Probably just my preference but I think they have an opportunity to get rid of the classic grocery store with the 500 parking spaces on this site. They should have made it more central to the site to allow better walkability. Also do something like Phoenician and mix in a Wine bar on top with a great downtown view. I think they will have trouble filling the NE corner though. You are probably right about the townhomes too. Which would mean there would be a lot!
  20. I saw this too. A couple of takeaways.... There is no through street to the east end. I thought that Gregg Street would connect to Middle Street. Also I may be reading too much into this but I think you can see from the Squares with Open Spaces in the middle, where they plan on having Apartments. The multi-building plots along Clinton must be retail/commercial. Most office buildings looks to be located closer to the bayou or to the east.
