  1. It does, but I believe that that is a misprint. The name of the project is "East Riverside"...and the location that I am guessing, is just across the street from "East River".
  2. Educated guess: North side of the Bayou, West of Jensen, East of the train tracks. Good downtown view, across the Bayou.
  3. I think that our crappy grid continues to be tested periodically during the hot summer months, it makes better sense for them to lay-off the lighting for a while. I think if I were managing the building, I'd do the same thing. I bet they light up again in the fall.
  4. Okay...just as long as we are not talking about the block where the Library and Black Lab used to be.
  5. Clutch, comments like that will just derail the thread. They always do. Not suggesting it isn’t a significant issue, or worthy of conversation. I’ll just suggest that maybe you can start a new topic at an appropriate place in f you want to address the issue. The topic generally just spirals into a chaos.
  6. I think that we should all give, even well established restaurants, a little leeway right now. It’s no secret that labor is a major issue. Sounds like Acadian Coast explained the issue pretty clearly.
  7. I sincerely doubt that the HLSR will be down with that Park concept. Pretty much anything that happens with the Dome will need their approval.
  8. Judging from all the other trees that were planted and have grown-up in this leafy neighborhood, I'd say their odds of survival are pretty good.
  9. Is this the "Change is in the Air" Changes were were expecting? I wasn't. This is just a new outfit for the strip mall with a few parking spaces converted to Patio Seating. No increased density on this key boulevard. Guess I am not surprised basis the leasing activity...but still....
  10. John’s xpresslube on Bissonnet is a great Greek shop in Bellaire. They are my preferred place to go. Very friendly and professional. May be the same family johnxpresslube.com
  11. Agree with samagon, provided that streets/lane-ways are kept to a higher standard of maintenance and repair, then the rest of our third-world surfaces.
  12. I don't think it's stopped raining long enough, in the past 4 months, for the mud to become dirt.
  13. There is a marine construction company setting up in that area as well, for bulkhead work and bank stabilization.
  14. Several new updates in the Retail Leasing Brochure, a few new renderings and views and glimpses more of Phase 1 as well as Phase 2, if you look close. Slight update to the central Plaza and Traffic plan. Seems to me that Building F has move a bit north, away from the Bayou, and has squeezed the small stand alone Plaza Pavilion out. It is, also, indicated which retail spaces are "in negotiation". East River 9 & Riverhouse are now shown on the Masterplan. https://eastriverhtx.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/210628-East-River-Retail-Brochure.pdf
  15. Sums it up quite nicely. My brother is a very well known and accomplished blues musician in Austin and has made his way as a professional musician in Austin since arriving there in 1990. In August the Mayor will be declaring a day in his name. However, a couple months ago he had to leave the city and moved to Buda. He can no longer afford it in the city. Very few of the musicians can. Last month, he started playing music in front of live audiences again...and it was in over here in Galveston (Old Quarter), Woodlands (Dosey Doe) and two shows at Mucky Duck. My brother works very hard at keeping Austin vibrant and alive, but he is also are reading the writing on the wall.
  16. I've decided to believe that this is being designed by professionals who know what they are doing, know how to spot risks and know how to mitigate them. It's the same people who decided not to populate the Eastern Glades lake with Crocodiles and chose crushed granite rather than crushed glass for the running trails.
  17. It's $46 for Seat on The Sunset Limited. The seat is fine for napping or reading but, we generally spend most of the time in the Sightseer Lounge Car. Sometimes the Park Service has volunteers onboard who ride onboard and point out points of interest enroute. Departs NOLA, Union Station at 9:00am and is scheduled to arrive Houston at 6:15pm*.
  18. ^^Doing just that after July 4th weekend. Chosen this option a couple times in the past. It does take a little longer, but it is FAR better than trying to drive though a hangover. Plus...it's beautiful scenery, a served meal, you can take the edge off with your own bottle of wine (or whatever)...and relax. Works coming home...but, I always choose drive or fly from Houston to NOLA. Doesn't make sense to arrive at 11pm, or later.
  19. Obviously, they can’t share the concept until they’ve chosen the perfect backsplash.
  20. ^^ Um. I think it is 5 floors of residential wrapped around 7 floors of parking. Total height would be 7 floors.
  21. That is interesting and not at all what I've observed on my local neighborhood groups on Nextdoor, which is based all around the East River site. The entire local neighborhood is very eager for this to get started, in fact it is a primary reason so many people have moved to the area and why so many homes are being built. Where is the opposition coming from, that you have observed?
  22. Interesting. This ^^ is much further east than Phase 1. Must be part a start of the 3 par, unless they are going stabilize that bank.
  23. 1. They are being turned into epipen injectors? 2. needed the needles to vaccinate India. 3. Removed because they were sending the wrong message about intravenous drug use. 4. ...
