I'm not understanding how some of you think this isn't a nice building. It's not just a box of glass but it actually has some character with the brick and nice roof.- 107 replies

Houston Tomorrow Suggestion for Dynamic New Mass Transit Solution
j_cuevas713 replied to nativehoustonion's topic in Transit
Why don't we just focus on light rail connecting to the Galleria from downtown and a possible line to cover the Heights. Anything outside of the Loop should be heavy rail to the burbs. Simple as that. Along with our new bus system we would have a strong transit system. All that's left are nice bike lanes. But I think those rental bikes are doing great in this city. -

I'm personally all about balance. I think the design of this building will balance out with the residential building across from Discovery Green.- 1,894 replies

I couldn't find the original post on this development. I parked across the street to go in to work this morning and I saw two gentlemen surveying the site. One of those gentlemen was entering the abandoned restaurant. I think this is starting up. I should've talked to one of the guys but I was in a rush.

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
j_cuevas713 replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
If this city wants some respect then it needs to respect itself first. I don't understand why damn ugly Christmas lighting is still allowed anywhere! Downtown should be glowing at nite. It should be a place people are wanting to be. -

If this gets built then you can expect a ton of more development to follow. You always need just one developer to take the plunge and the rest follow. So this is actually pretty big if this gets built.

Light Rails? And how is it a game of Russian Roulette? Follow the traffic signs like anywhere else and you should be just fine. If you don't like the idea of rail running thru the middle of a street then go to Boston or even Denver and realize it's a normal part of life in those cities. I can't believe we allowed the city to decay so badly.

Yeah I completely agree but still I'd like to know some details for Metros expansion plans. I don't want to wait another 10 yrs for more track to be laid. We seriously need a connection to the Galleria on both the north and south side of the city.

How about service to the airport. Mayor Parker promised light rail service to both airports.

One bad experience shouldn't keep her from going back. The place seems to be doing well.

This is a massively planned project. Now that the city has a plan for how it's going to grow, I wonder how this will integrate with downtown.
