The one alley in Houston - I'll be there ready to fight 1114 Texas Ave. All you weinies who cry about how this or that project doesn't fit your perfect world I will fight you with my keyboard!!! No seriously, my dad called me today from Chicago, a furniture dealer closed a $55 million dollar deal here in Htown (cough cough West Beltway). This would be a entire year for any other city in the country. You can't make the rules or tell people where to build, just be happy you don't live anywhere else. Rant over - but seriously if someone complains about the stars one more time... I'll be in the alley....

Thumbs up - and meet me in the alley if you want to hate on this project. OH BOOOOO - go play sim city haters!!!!!!!!!!!!! or move!

Hahaha +1 it's hard not to think of this as a bunch of kids redoing a fort. I sense a similar out of money plea as the holiday inn / savoy coming any day although I hope I'm sorely mistaken...

Haha you guys are so full of BRAZOS river sediment it's not even funny. Would one of you gladly like to commute DT then commute the freaking 30 minutes up this hypothetical garage. Sounds like a nightmare to me and probably the reason garages are usually capped including in NYC & CHI - simply not feasible to spend a half an hour going up in a spiral. smh

bumping because this building to me is not boring - ate at Irma's today and couldn't help but imagine what that little corner of DT may turn into soon. Irma's the OG loc one is so legit. Pricey but seriously one of a kind. No menu, just talk to the fam.- 27 replies

1. Dollar General 2. Used Piano Store 3. A Cash Checking Spot Don't feed the trolls or they will bite back! Seriously... I would say 1.Trader Joes (small footprint) and better than fighting the mess on Alabama from MIdtown. New reidents got to eat and I don't think it would kill Phoenicia which I love. 2.A country bar like a little gimicky but a real honky tonk. It's honestly the only thing DFW has on us; rebels ha this response should be fun to watch !

Hahahahaha I love this building and glad it's not empty. I hope all the GFR fanatics go and show their support and browse the pianos even if they don't play. So random!!! I actually play and don't have a piano here so HOGG building here I come!!!

Midtown superblock park - renderings are out July start date? Let me give you the low down - a lot of people are hating on it being scaled down DG - IMO it's better than giant empty field - think there's Camden apts in the mix too.

Texaco Building (now The Star) At 1111 Rusk Street
Chi-Char-Hou-Dal replied to editor's topic in Downtown
Can someone who knows this project well summarize the timeline for rennovation. New developement? And most importantly the gigantic crater in the earth - when will that be filled in? I always liked the door down there - reminded me of a zombie movie - I envisioned being stuck down there being chased by walkers and of course the door would be welded shut. -
