  1. Would love to see pics of all these - or at least the names so I can look some up I don't know.
  2. Time to face the music the demand is in North & West - I personally would like to see all the buildings proposed DT go up and have tenants but I think the reality is only a few will get built. I know there is another thread - what are the chances... Hope I am wrong. I had to drive out to Gessner & I-10 today for an early morning meeting that would be brutal to do twice a day.
  3. So someone in the know - mandalas like tony mandola? Do they buy real estate like VaLlone - what is anyone thoughts on that street
  4. Drove by last night and was surprised to see this bad boy built in 1905 was gone. Anyone know what is coming in? They also have a traffic counter on Rosalie - area behind new Pearl Apartments seems to be picking up! Social Security Building is due for something cool. http://www.trulia.com/homes/Texas/Houston/sold/22303846-3017-Brazos-St-Houston-TX-77006 Demo Report Swamplot 9.10.13 http://swamplot.com/daily-demolition-report-the-land-of-the-law/2013-09-10/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+swamplot+%28Swamplot%3A+Houston%27s+Real+Estate+Landscape%29
  5. I never get on the "save everything banner" but after reading all the articles and old threads this is depressing - what's not depressing is the amount of new activity and residential downtown - guess I am glad there's some market square left!
  6. http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/8617-oldest-buildings-in-houston/ FOUND IT
  7. Remember, an entire block fronting Market Square was destroyed in the 1980s by a developer who did the demolition in the middle of the night without permits. We then were "gifted" the wonderful Kim Son Garage instead of having a block that looked similar to where Warren's Inn is located. LINK? Would like to hear more about this. TY
  8. http://swamplot.com/a-substandard-structure-to-become-sterling-house-bar-in-midtown/2013-08-26/ VIA SWAMPLOT WOW This wobbly 108-year-old house in Midtown, remodeled in 1999, might be fixed up one more time and converted into a bar. Or it might be demolished to make room for something new, says the reader who sends this photo and word of a recently secured TABC license for the so-called Sterling House here at 3015 Bagby St., just 1 block north of Elgin. The 1905 2,850-sq.-ft. house, sitting on a 4,918-sq.-ft. lot at the corner of Bagby and Rosalie, changed hands back in 2009, but it appears to have been waiting around for something to happen since then.
  9. They should have done it the exact same way it was done in 1908 - really? Wait until its done until you complain
  10. Mr Huge "The only problem is that retail is facing an ocean of parking lots, but oh well, I cant complain." You are complaining... "Sorry to call you out; however, I'm gonna keep that comment to myself"
  11. http://blog.chron.com/29-95/2013/07/sadness-alert-farrago-world-cuisine-has-closed/ Wonder what will fill the spot? Arguably the best restaurant spot in Midtown - or atleast one of the most noticeable. Personal experience, Farrago's was nice to have close by food was surprisingly good for someone with "world cuisine" in their name.
  12. I have posted before I think the area is ripe for an ice house - very chill reasonably priced and laid back man - anyone want to invest PM me
  13. Crazy stuff - thanks for the info!
  14. HAIF, I saw on flyer talk a poster commented on a once real deal connector between IAH and HOU any truth to this? How long did it take ect? My buddy got diverted tonight to BPT - Beaumont and started reading threads about the new bus service there. TY L
  15. If the chi in my name taught me anything - they will wish (apache) that they bought DT Everything cycles and DT is already strong but I imagine will become hot office spot again Chicago firms are pouring back downtown after years of suburban sprawl In not trying to start a huge argument bc can't do anything ab it and these decisions in global campuses and new towers are made by a very small group I people CEOs ect. - whatever they want they get - not hating on energy cooridor - Sug town - or w land - it's all good man! But mark this mans words eventually DT will be the it spot for companies - and i love DT now BTW ciao-/:/-
