  1. And somewhere near 1919 Smith the proverbial tortoise also known as "Uncle Sam" with great pain and animation takes one more small step towards the finish line.
  2. Triton great catch! Would an experienced mole person please advise on if this is possible??.
  3. What happened to Wharhols - real story? Open for what 3 months - so nice on the inside I know there is more to that story. Interesting about 2401 Main - I know Patio Bar was great and pretty busy when they first opened but lately has been a ghost town. Wish them the best!
  4. Agreed - no bueno - knock down plus a resi/commercial tower here might work too though. Anyone know the scoop on who owns it? Current status?
  5. besides the pictures attatched or googled - does anyone know what the interior is like? Is it solid sealed? Or where urban pioneers and explorers able to get in and squat like days inn, savoy ect I will try to ride my bike to and take some pics this weekened - seriously never knew about this building until someone bumped a 6AC thread elsewhere.
  6. bumping - could they convert to condos?
  7. Looks like my intel was wrong - new owner of OTC midtown unsure if this was in the sale of OTC Can be anything you want it to be...
  8. Anyone know price? Lot of potential 1601 commerce - was it a club at one time?
  9. Perbacco - you should go its solid. Wish it had better hours but maybe that will change as DT changes.
  10. Dead serious how many residents would DT need to shift the attitude change and make DT CBD he new hot spot. I'm not really interested in debating suburbs v DT but I feel DT has so much pos momentum regarding living and social aspects but the lechuguga seems to be heading north and west. There will always be law firms and smaller O&G I guess I am asking does 10k residents help DT office landscape or is it just another albeit new neighborhood to live - again this is far from bashing DT- look at my post history I'm thinking big pic Cheers Lorenz
  11. A year later and man this area has gotten better and better - add some residential and well be cooking with sesame oil!!
  12. Sound out the name of that construction company... back to my scotch%^&
  13. Sterling House bar is going to be a low key beer bar - with large patio and grass yard. No food, but definitely not a club. Owned by same guys that opened the new OTC bar. Spoke with the owner and I think it will fit well in the neighborhood. Construction has picked up a lot lately and they should be open late Spring/Summer 14
  14. Saw one guy working on the lobby today. 1! What is the deal with this? Anyone know?
  15. Can someone please update me on the Underpass situation/Harrisburg? Ridiculo that the line is close to done before and after the underpass. No work started so 2016 before the two sides are connected? I rode my bike down Harrisburg the other day and couldn't believe nothing has been started. Also, after being in Europe for the month of December - our street grade light rail is so slow and inefficient versus some of the high speed subways and heavy rail. Not trying to be that guy but it's hard to compare.
  16. Reading and forgot I was the one who said might be bad fit - area is definitely changing and as I have said before freedmans town ( like it or not) is getting squeezed like a pimple from all directions. north - the huge new apt complex next to fed West - new HS Campus and 500k tow homes west of that east - new Camden / Post - bars ect as midtown expands towards grey South - Condos galore I think the shot gun houses should be preserved and restored - however people are missing the boat if they think that this will eventually happen. houston is booming - get Chevron or some big corp to help donate and fix up a single shot gun house - there's got to be a way. Nonsensical rant over - goodnight
  17. Spoke with neighbor who said during demo - building is rotting away and full of termites - rumor is demo halted and bulldozers are coming in to demolish the crumbling house. At least they tried to save it - honestly it's a small lot so I am curious of how the bar will look and parking?
  18. Would love some details might ride my bike to Ty and talk to construction team - appears they are not knocking it down rather regabing the 100+ year old building
