Or an efficient use of limited resources. I had a hard hat on for the concrete pour here and can tell you the guys in charge of this developement are complete proffesionals. I'll leave you with this "You can pay 130 guys full figure "boomtown salaries" to get the job done right. Or you could pay 300 guys a little over minimum wage and throw floors up. Lastly, you throw apartments and pre-fabbed concrete buildings up. This baby is trying to emulate it's mother and make it a damn pain in the ass to demolish. its a mystery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apartments here would be like the wild wild west - instead of injuns and wild buffalo one would fight the occasional crackhead and homeless. I head to this very spot and give out sandwiches from Panera on a weekly basis. Before labeling me a hater - I do my part and try to spend some time and give some food. This in my mind is a couple blocks and really all along Pierce elevated that Houston needs to focus on their homeless people. Also, the park on the northside shouldn't really be called a park. Drug use and selling in front of parked cop cars, really a sad sight as I ride my bike up there weekly. Does anyone know if there's a plan for that northern park by the trustled bridge? Sorry blanking on name. Who will be the first with the scoop on these two lots? Urbanizer, Howard Hughes, Bigfootsucks? I'm ready HIT ME!- 282 replies

Maybe stupid question - does anyone have renderings and timeframe for what's currently under construction. I know there was a new tower that was maybe phase 2? -

UU My guess would be when the Pierce elevated rammed through the hood" (NPI), things changed dramatically. I spend a good amount of time in Shreveport and how the freeways changed entire neighborhoods is crazy. 4-5 block section was probably erased out - sometimes streets/numbers on both sides change as well. sorry - reread your post - thought you meant the 3 blocks that the APTS are going on: Never Mind.

I started a thread about this building in downtown From my boy Like This Luminare Saturday, May 17, 2014 unfortunately the architecture of it really isn't all that unique. It's really just a simple warehouse with loading docks for trucks and nothing more. If you really wanted to save this then you would really have to do a lot to it! I'm talking like knocking down some walls to place some much needed windows and completely overhauling the exterior. I'm surpised with the revitalization of the bayou and downtown that this area hasn't been touched at all. It all depends on what the city wants as the feel for this area. If they want an older feel then they will find some way to keep it. If they want a more contemporary setting then this one is as good as gone as it really doesn't and a lot to the community. I'm all for preserving our past, but it has to be stuff that adds to the narrative. but idk maybe someone will do something good with these old warehouses.
