ANTHONYHTOWN
Impressive for the size and the location being that is not that close to downtown yet not that far, imagine the pricing might be a bit cheaper then inside dowtown. there also seems to be an empty lot across the street which could eventually lead to another development. awesome news.

Urbannizer
Groundbreaking may actually happen pretty soon. Also, this will be a condo building. Good morning ****., Thanks for your inquiry about Ivy Lofts. The initial information I have is that they will be one and two bedroom units for sale. They're scheduled to break ground within the next few weeks. Square footage and price points have not been confirmed yet, but with your permission, I can add you to me contact list and keep you updated with information as I receive it. Sincerely,******

Urbannizer
This one could have the best views of downtown Houston of any building in town. It will be from the same angle as UH's stadium but closer which will make downtown appear ultra massive from that vantage point. A video on their FB Page shows off the views. Not exactly the same angle but it is still one I'd love to have.

ANTHONYHTOWN
Lots of space right next to downtown... this place is going to have way more in 6 years In deed, we got so far city view terrace which hopefully goes up and you can see from the picture above the hamilton. cspwal
Most of these blocks will probably become town house farms, but hopefully some (like Ivy Lofts) will think taller

Twinsanity02
Could someone knowledgeable in the ways of real estate explain how this beautiful condo will be constructed soon, yet the 40 story block 98 apartment tower near the sports and convention center as well as rail access to the theater and museum districts is being delayed.

The half block it's going to be built on is currently occupied by the construction trailers for the Marriott. They can't build a tower until the Marriott finishes

Houston?
I can see East Downtown being transformed more into another identity than Third Ward. East Downtown is virtually empty and needs some filling and life badly. I hope Houston will definitely take care of this area, truly transforming it into an urban haven.
Urbannizer
Sounds like the building will have micro-units according to the FB description. If the price is right, the units will sell like hotcakes. https://www.facebook.com/theivylofts/info/?tab=page_info The Ivy Lofts is a revolutionary new style of downtown micro-living featuring stunning skyline views from EaDo

j_cuevas713
If this gets built then you can expect a ton of more development to follow. You always need just one developer to take the plunge and the rest follow. So this is actually pretty big if this gets built.
houstontexasjack
Microunits....I'll be very interested to see if Houston supports demand on a condo basis. I can see Texas mortgage lending underwriters freaking out with questions about a studio condo.

HNathoo
Either this or City View would in itself be a game changer for EaDo, but both would be huge. Does anyone know who's behind Ivy Lofts?

samagon
East Downtown can finally be taken seriously. Looking forward to what else this brings the area. The writing has been on the wall for a while, if not something that a lot of people have paid any attention to. If this gets built then you can expect a ton of more development to follow. You always need just one developer to take the plunge and the rest follow. So this is actually pretty big if this gets built. Herrin lofts (I think that's the name, by the soccer stadium), those apartments that have been there for almost 10 years now, the tons of town houses over there, not a single one can be had for less than $350,000. Yeah, this will be huge for that corner of the near east end, it will help push the whole area over the edge it's been teetering for a while. dml423
Long time lurker, first time poster. So first things first, thank you all for always keeping me up to date on what's happening with pictures and news. I look forward to contributing update photos of construction going on around the city. These apartments are going to be huge for EaDo. Really excited about it and city view terrace. Only negative is that it is a decent walk to the nearest light rail station (9-10) blocks.
