Golyadkin
I'm fairly certain a separate residential building is going in there. I think it's in the BLVD Place master plan.It is. The plans for that one are still on their site plan map (here: http://www.blvdplace...rojectPlans.htm). Initially that was the site for the Hanover Tower, so there's a little confusion over what's going here now. It may be that Hanover is actually going to be putting up two residential towers here. No concrete information about it that I've seen at this point. Edited January 8, 2013 by Golyadkin
Mister X
The plans, renderings and photos seem to be matching up nicely at this point. Edited January 8, 2013 by Mister X
lockmat
So the site closest to San Felipe is the location of the square tower that was first revealed years ago? I guess we always thought this new rendering was replacing it, but it's not. Correct?
Golyadkin
So the site closest to San Felipe is the location of the square tower that was first revealed years ago? I guess we always thought this new rendering was replacing it, but it's not. Correct? That's where the confusion is. When the tower that's currently going up (the curved one) was first announced, it was made to sound like it was a replacement for the tower that was always talked about to go on the small block formed by Sky Lark, Post Oak Ln. and San Felipe (this tower: http://swamplot.com/...-blvd-place.jpg). But given that the site plans on their website show both, with that site looking the same as it always has, there's no clear information one way or the other. Personally I'm hoping they go back to their original pre-recession 57-story plan (here: http://www.slideshare.net/whyarc/2012-jy-hanover), but I'd be very happy to see a tower of any kind go there. I'm all for parks but a little patch of grass in that area is frankly IMO. Edited January 9, 2013 by Golyadkin

Golyadkin
Unfortunately, that's the ORIGINAL plan for the site, circa 2007. This tower (http://swamplot.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/hanover-blvd-place.jpg) is the most recent rendering for that site. I wish the 57-story one was more recent, but it's not. It's a pre-recession rendering, meaning that it's pretty much certain to never happen.

Golyadkin
I'm hoping BLVD Place gets a W myself. I got to stay at the W Taipei in August. BEST. HOTEL. EVER. Also, almost every W I've seen has been an incredible modern tower. It would fit perfectly in the area.
Golyadkin
They've started putting in the first steel frame for the office/retail section (phase 2 specifically - the concrete structure that's been going up on the site so far has been the garage). The apartment structure, which will be composed of 355 units averaging 1,055 square feet, will be completed in phases, said David Ott, development partner at Hanover. The first units will be delivered in early fall 2014, and Hanover — the contractor, owner and manager of the property — will be completely finished with the project by spring of 2015, Ott said."

Pleak
Also in the Bizjournal article linked above was this last paragraph. Plans for Blvd Place also include 1,000 high-rise multifamily residential units and an upscale boutique hotel. I'm so lost on the twists and turns of Blvd Place. Can someone simply explain where the other 645 high-rise units are going and where the hotel is going. Last I knew, only high-rise buildings being built were Hanover's (above) and whatever Apache builds. I apologize in advance for being dense on this one. Pleak
Thanks. Do we have any idea of the configuration of the additional high rises? Or are they just "proposed"? From what I understand, all the really cool configurations from earlier in the thread are all gone now - correct?

There were several previous proposals for some of them, but most of them are unlikely at best. Right now we are just waiting for new information to come out, and we have no timeline for that. SkylineView
Lots of progress over the last two weeks. Also note that the painting (exterior treatment?) of the Whiteco building has changed in the background. Construction of the associated apartment tower is going full bore too. 2/2/2013
